I went to a kingdom hall today with the Jehovah's Witnesses and it wasn't cult like at all they were all very welcoming and did not have a bad word to say about anyone or anything, it was refreshing. I am wondering what you all think of this religion, thanks for your answers.

I'm just standing up for God. Can you say the same?

Are you jealous because we are God's chosen? Or is it because we are smarter and better looking than the rest of you? Is it because we are pillars in our communities and stand against drug users and sodomites? Is it because we are captains of industry and your teachers and lawyers and politicians?

Why can't you people just accept us for who we are, God's chosen ones?

You know what I don't like? People who think they're Christains and say, "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL FOR BEING GAY!" or even, people who say that to people who actually diserve it, like immorale people who murder people, etc. It doesn't matter where we're going god damn it!

All that matters is we make the most of EARTH, not HEAVEN, NOT HELL!

Anyone else notice how ranting to people how they're going to hell is completely immorale, and no one diserves to be judged like that. If you act like that you're not a Christain.

Anyone else disagree? Agree?

Don't act like god damn two year olds about this either.

Will God bless and forgive Atheists for being more intelligent than their religious counterparts? I’m obviously talking about the imaginary fantasy God that exists in the mentally handicapped mind of religious people. Clearly God doesn’t exist, and Atheists are intellectually superior to religious people (a well researched and published fact) but in your religious little world, will God bless and forgive Atheists?

After all, It’s a statistical fact that the higher your education, income, and intelligence, the more likely you are not to believe in a god. For every college student that converts to a religious belief system, 17 college students convert to atheist beliefs. Atheists have an average intelligence of 25 IQ points above their Christian counterparts. Atheists are here to help “the lower IQ religious person” see the light, learn, convert, and hopefully start making a positive contribution to humanity.

Now THAT is one of the best quotes about religion I have ever read.
Not only is it 100% true, but it is irrefutable too.
Only the most pig-headed of deists will even try to refute it. But these pathetic attempts to do so only serve to illustrate two things;
That the quote is sound.
That by attempting to refute it, they demonstrate their ignorance.

Asked differently, what makes you trust a priest? How do you know he's a good person? Can you honestly deny that you feel comfortable with your faith only because it is expected in society and that so many around you do the same thing?
How would you define fashion if not a way to avoid being insecure in other people's company? Can faith be related to that mechanism? (if you ramble on fashion you missed the point!:)
Bottom line, why do you trust the unverifiable yet be skeptical of others? Isn't that the smell of contradiction in your head?

It seems to me that in the UK you go to school do a bit of RE (religious education, yes its probably called something else now),leave and that is it.Only my sister and her family that I know of go to church and the kids hate it too.So why do so many amercans go to church and big it all up?Its a club really, somewhere you can make friends and have a coffee afterwards. If so many people cant be bothered with it all why is the world such a mess? Yes we all know about Bush so leave him out of it.

Ex 31:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Ex 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
Ex 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
Ex 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
JUST WHEN DOES FOREVER END?

When the WTC happened, the crime rate lowered and there were less abortions performed. However, people are now getting back to their old ways. I think God is thinking of something else to make us see. I think Armagedden is really soon...

How important do you feel organized religion is. Is it possible, do you think that maybe the churches are misleading with the information they give you? Do you think that maybe the solitary practice of your religion would give you more insight on your spiritual journey?

My father-in-law told me NO alcohol at my wedding!!! I argued to the point of almost eloping. When I asked him about Jesus drinking wine as mentioned in the Bible, his reply was: "Jesus never drank wine, it was grape juice back in those times, they just called it wine."

I'm not bashing on anyone or their religion. I don't care what your religion is, tell me why I should believe you over reason or anything else. If it has to do with blind faith, that doesn't count because your faith and everyone else's has no bearing on my life at all. I don't want to hear how it will make me happier, I don't care, I only care about the truth. If you are going to give a quote from your religious text then you better back it up because without backing evidence it is just religious propaganda and I don't care who they say wrote the book because I didn't see them write it.

If you think that an ancient piece of a boat a flood evidence proves it then think about how this proves your religion and not just a localized flood and a piece of a boat. I really want to hear a reason why I should have religion. Personal experience is hard to accept because you could be lying, crazy, or just perceived it totally wrong because of hopefulness.

Remember the jealousy of the sorriest of your high school contemporaries? Some beatniks or "L's" took it in stride, didnt blame the system, just busted their butt in college and worked out in the gym to later get the "last laugh".

But, then there were the others. Those that continued to wear the chip on the shoulder, blaming the system or God or the world for the cruel and unfair result...they didnt get the girl.

Havent I just given the profile of religious prophets? Killjoys who, because they couldnt compete well in the darwinian reality of life, created a religion to try and change the probablities.

See, religion tries to reverse the darwinian equation...all this guilting of sex and parroted cliches about "inner beauty" and the outside doesnt matter.

I used to go to a big chruch. The super nice guy who was deemed "super spirtual" but wasnt attractive got lip service and no girlfriend. Whereas people like me got the girl despite my badboy rap.

In many countries in the MIddle East, if you do not believe in their religion, you can get the death penalty. But in the United States, we have the first Amendment. It guarantees the freedom of speech, but it also does more than that. It also give every American the freedom of press and freedom of religion. I think that the fredom of religion is what ticks of all those dumba s s terrorists. To them, if we dont believe in their god, then we deserve to die for that reason.

Anyone agree/disagree?

I just feel sorry for all the non-Christians in the world and the oddball Christians too. I mean oddballs like the Catholics, the Mormons, the Seventh Day Adventists, the Jehovah Witnesses, etc. You know the ones I'm talking about. If only all of them could see the light of Jesus and experience the grace and forgiveness of God like we have. Then we could all be glory bound!
