I think you might be in for a big surprise!
That reminds me of a Pearly Gates story, you can substitute any denomination here, cuz the point of it is exclusivity:
There was a fundamentalist who died and went up to the Pearly Gates. Peter was there, and looked at the book, and then let the man in. Peter led the man down a long hall that had doors to rooms all along it. They passed by the first door and there were some Pentecostals clapping and praising the Lord. They passed by the second door, and the man looked in and saw the Methodists, singing a hymn. They passed by the third door, and the man saw some Episcopalians and they were following their books. As they passed by the fourth door, Peter signalled to the man to be very quiet, and they tiptoed past that room. The man asked Peter why they had to be so quiet in passing that particular room, and Peter told him, "Because they think that they are the only ones here."
Look in 1 John, and you will see that he says, "God is Love and whoever lives in Love lives in God, and whoever says they love God, whom they cannot see, while hating their neighbor, whom they can see, is a liar and there is no truth in him."
Look also at the Last Supper, where Jesus says that he gives us one new commandment,, which is to love as he loved us.
then look at the rest of the New Testament to see what Jesus teaches us about loving neighbors and sinners, and even all the non-Christians and oddballs.

Why do you say Fund. Christians are the chosen few. Catholicism is not a cult, they believe in the Trinity which is the hallmark of NOT being a cult, they believe in Christ's divinity and his salvific works.
My husband is a Lutheran pastor, we are not a fundamentalists, yet we believe in the Bible as the inerrant and inspired word of God. We believe that Jesus died for our sins. We believe in the Trinity.
We don't need any more zealots chasing people away from the Word of God with arrogant statements. That is poor evangelism to say the least.
That is not how Christ did it!

No matter what the name of your denomination is...you are saved one way...through the accepting of Jesus Christ as your own personal saviour. At least that is what Jesus said in John 3:3. "Verily, verily I say unto you, lest a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." I am not sure that the best way to show them the error of their doctrines, without actually showing them where their doctrine errs, and where they can find the truth in God's word, is the best way to reach them for Christ. When I was a Cathoilc, I did not like just anyone saying my religion was messed up. It took being exposed to the Word of God, being shown the truth abought the free gift of salvation from the Word, being shown God's love in born again Christians that earned the right to share their faith with me through our relationships. And last but MOST it took the Holy Spirit changing my mind! Now when I reflect back on the times and events leading up to the day I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal saviour, I can see how God did put different people in my path to help guide me along. But when it came down to it, it was that wonderful family that loved the Lord, and loved me too. The Holy Spirit used them more than any othe vessel to woo me to Him.

The reason that Fundamentalist Christians believe that they are God’s chosen few, is exactly the same reason that any other religious mythology cult think that they are also God’s chosen few, and exactly the same reason that any intellectually handicapped individual or group thinks that they are special, because it's a well known result or function of mental illness.
Religion is a serious mental illnesses. It’s the inability to face the reality of life and the finality of death. It affects 85% of the USA and 75% of US victims are Christians. The more pathetic and desperate a persons life, the more likely they are to believe in a god. People with otherwise empty lives, are the strongest believers. It gives them false hope that there’s a higher meaning to their sad and pathetic lives.
Religious people are dangerous. They cannot think for themselves, but instead cling to every word the bible says. Religious fanatics can somehow throw out all scientific evidence and replace it with the word of one book that has no credibility.
Recognising religion as a type of mental illness would be a good start to help cure this disease. We should develop support groups along the lines of Alcoholics Anonymous - “My name is Sam and I’m a recovering Christian ...”
Scientists will soon explain why some people are religious and believe in God, and why there’s so much trouble caused in the world by religion. Scientists have already shown that some people carry a "warrior" gene that makes them more prone to violence and criminal acts.
Some people are genetically predisposed to violence and criminal acts, and I believe scientists have also found that some people are genetically predisposed to religious or spiritual acts, but have yet to publish their full findings to avoid a public uproar.
Scientists may well discover that people who are predisposed to the “religious or spiritual” gene are probably more likely to also be predisposed to the “warrior” gene, which would ultimately cause these people to have religious conflicts like crusades and wars. It is already a well known fact that religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began.
Religious people do not understand the question “why” and so God, Religion, the Bible, or whatever, takes over and controls their mind. The trouble with this solution, unlike science, is that anything can be twisted into whatever you wish to believe and therefore is always right. Sadly to say, that’s irrational thought.
However, there must be a rational explanation why religious people act in such an irrational manner, and I think scientists will prove in the near future that it’s all a function of genetic disposition.
Religious believers are truly blessed with a very special gift. The violent troubles around our world are clearly associated with various religious factions. Scientists have published details about the “warrior” gene and the “spiritual or religious” gene which shows that certain people are genetically predisposed to violence and/or religion. Scientists have also published that religion could be the result of mental illness. This makes sound sense in our deeply troubled world.
It’s also a well known fact that intellectually handicapped people are often quoted as being the happiest people in the world. They are so blissfully unaware of the true world around them, and see and believe reality to be quite different in their mental worlds.
I think religious people are blessed with a similar “handicapped” gift which would explain why they see and believe in the imaginary world of religion, God and the Bible. I think religious people are also blissfully unaware of reality in their mentally handicapped world. This could help, explain their irrational behaviour.
The reason that Fundamentalist Christians believe that they are God’s chosen few is because they have a mental problem.

Matt. 7:1 - judge not that ye be not judged.
Matt. 7:21 - Not everyone thar says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; BUT HE THAT DOETH the will of my Father which is in Heaven. No matter of which denomination!!! or "religion" for that matter!!!
As an "oddball Christian" I love you and forgive you.

Your question is of a judgmental nature.
These people you refer to as Non-christians and odd balls are no different than any of the rest of us.
We have all been put here by God to learn the true meaning of love. They are doing it their way; we are doing it ours.
Jesus asks us to love our neighbors. These people are our neighbors.
We need not think on this issue beyond this point.
Jesus did not ask us to judge the actions of our neighbors, in fact he cautioned us to avoid doing this at all cost.
Remember; judge not lest ye be judged.
He asks us only to love them.
When you deviate from this path Jesus pointed out to us you do so at great peril to your salvation. Judgments path leads only downward. The path Jesus pointed out for us leads only upward toward our home where our father awaits our return.
Forget this judgmental nonsense you have been taught.
This is not being a Christian; it is being a bigot.
Love and blessings

Uh...any who have faith in Christ are of His chosen,
have you not read the NT?
Also the Catholics and Mormons to my knowlege have
faith in Jesus, the Mormons are actually called Latter Day
Saints, and their Church is called the Church of Jesus Christ LOL.
You sir are what Christ was talking about when he said.
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
--oo
This is one of the reasons so many people are atheist.
There is so much judgementalism, and division and
hate in christianity. It is disgusting! I am a christian
myself but people like you make me sick! You think
you are so much better than anyone else. Some people
have not recieved the gospel yet, are they any less than
you? Follow christs example, christ would never
behave in such a self righteous and pompous manner
remember , being Humble is a godly virtue.
bris
Btw i just want to wish every one a happy Sabbath day
no matter what your denomination is you are gods
chosen!
May love be with you always

I like to ask you a question for the sake of answering yours...Can you prove that God chose you to be his follower? Maybe it was a demon who got a hold on you, because of the way you expressed your self here...in your question.
Now to answer your question.
No one has the true religion we are all imperfect we sin we were born in sin we inherited it from our fore fathers. But most of us try our best.
To say that you people are the chosen few is stupidity on all of you who say that.

Well leave it to Don to illustrate the typical "love" and "brotherhood" that christians show to each other.
Honestly, with spokes people like Don, it's a wonder there aren't more atheists...
