Nope. Happy to say, Christianity is the furthest thing from religion. Whoever told you it's a religion like Buddism, Islam, Catholicism, Mormon, Baptist, Protestant, etc. got your money good.
Christianity is the relationship you have with Son of God, Christ Jesus. He was the substitute for you when he was put on the cross to die for sin.
His blood took care of our sin debt. All the lying, cheating, stealing, etc. we've ever done, and will someday do, has been paid for, in believing the Lord Jesus Christ.
It's not a liscence to go out and do whatever we want, but an understanding that the Son of God made us right with God, and that we're no longer enemies in our mind, or in our hearts with God. He made things right, and true christians long to serve.
There is his adversary, and our adversary running around out there, the devil. Lying right into your face day after day after day telling you not only what Christianity isn't, but why you shouldn't be a Christian, Christ didn't really die for you, and a whole bunch of other lies. If you're in that group, you're picking on Christians, and your minds are just filled with darkness....cloudiness...
Otherwise, your mind is open and enlightened to the truth. Christianity is the furthest thing FROM religion, or tradition, or rules, or regulations, or orders, but a holy relationship with the one true God.

Well, it seems to be that there is enough "picking on" to go around . . . Christians, Muslims, not to mention atheists and pagans -- who are simply discounted by people "of faith." I generally avoid the questions that are "set ups" much like those questionnaires you get in the mail that don't really give you a choice. I pitch them, too. I have very strong opinions and beliefs. I try to live a moral life based on principles, kindness and generosity. I don't always succeed but I don't believe I'll be punished. I suppose I'm more agnostic - some people say that means cowardly atheist. I don't know about that. I just can't accept a punishing god so I live my life as best I can and keep an open mind about the world religions.
I'm sure there are different reasons people do this "picking" or "making fun of" other religions. Some are simply mean-spirited, some are fearful (I guess but not sure why), some just enjoy stirring things up (I suspect).

Simple. Christians use the Bible to excuse their prejudice. And, they are out to run the government based on their "faith," which is unconstitutional. All the efforts to ban gay marriage are a great example. Also, the fundamentalists on Yahoo feel free to preach hate to LGBT folks in the LGBT section, so I have no problem preaching tolerance and acceptance here.
For example, the Bible says many things: to love your neighbor, to do to others as you would have them do to you, to give and not ask for in return. Too many Christians pick and choose which words in the Bible to live by while ignoring the most fundamental message of Christ.
The "holy" hypocrisy is why.

Why is everyone picking on Christians? I mean it just religion, right.?
Hello, not everyone is picking on Christina.
It is becoming just a religion, however it still holds minds captive.
Folks generally just might not want religion back in control,
mainly because of its horror filled history.
There is some good in it though.
However when religion is in control death, ignorance and faith usually follow.
We have to be interested in it ,if not it just might come as a
thief in the night bringing its hell with it.

Well to Christians, it's NOT just religion. But I think people pick on Christians so much because Christianity scares them in a way other religions don't.

personally i wouldn't classify myself as a religion, religion is more of a tradition than anything else, me personally i rather have a relationship with Jesus and our Heavnly father.also i think if everyone in the religions would just stop being so divided and we all got on our knees and pray we would get more stuff accomplish and our prayers would be answered.instead of picking on each other. together we stand divided we fall.also darkness doesn't like the light, thats why alot of ppl get upset with christians, baptists ,etc, etc.

No, it's not just religion. It's politics, it's social manipulation. It's getting on the way of our basic rights (like the right to use a condom and to exert birth control, just to mention a simple example). Christianity is in the middle of everybody's lives (Christians or otherwise). So we do have a right to try to stop it. The moment when Christianity stops trying to control the whole world (including those of us who have freely chosen not to be a part of it) we are also going to leave Christianity alone. Till then, it's wartime (though not a war in the traditional sense of the word, of course).

I think they put silly questions up to get a reaction. They may do it because there are some "Christians" who are extremely judgmental and "in your face" about it. That from anyone is offensive. Also, I've discovered that some people consider having their beliefs questioned counts as picking on.

when you just can not understand something, you just have to put it down, it is true that science has come up with some answers to creation, but have been unable to prove any of them. they would rather believe in a theory that can't be proven that a God they can't see, because they want to live a life without God, and can not understand why every body doesn't want to believe the same, we as Christians have the same problem, why would anyone want to take the chance of going to hell?

Because those truly religious are busy practicing their faiths...
which leaves us the question of how much chlorine needs to be added to the gene pool to get it right?
Same reason Democrats/Republicans dicker without addressing real life problems/solutions, politicians never say anything AND lawyers have jobs.
If the lions ate everybody we won't have this problem.
