Mysticism is usually understood in a religious context, but as William James (1902) points out, mystical experiences may happen to anyone, regardless of religious training or inclinations. Such experiences can occur unbidden and without preparation at any time, and might not be understood as religious experiences at all. They may be interpreted, perhaps, as artistic, scientific, or other forms of inspiration, or even dismissed as psychological disturbances. With that in mind, the word mysticism, is best used to point to conscious and systematic attempts to gain mystical experiences through studies and practice. Possible techniques include meditation, prayer, asceticism, devotions, the chanting of mantras or holy names, and intellectual investigation. Mystics typically go beyond specific religious perspectives or dogmas in their teachings, espousing an inclusive and universal perspective that rises above sectarian differences.

I think science and religion are intertwined. They are not so different, just their interpretation.

I happen to enjoy science fiction very much! Where would we be without Star Trek and the X Files?

Seriously, science general accepts a theory as wrong when facts prove it. Religion does not. Science is practiced by people all over the world with many different beliefs and approaches towards validating a hypothesis. Religion is practiced all over the world by people with the same beliefs without any validity testing. Science does not claim fact, it claims hypothesis and theory. Religion claims fact for that which is unproven. Science is an open inquiry. Religion is a closed dogma. Easy to see which is more reliant on mystical beliefs.

I don't think fact based science can be considered mystical at all, I do think some scientific theories are definitely beliefs. The whole evolution cult for example is enamored with the idea though the fossil record clearly disproves it. They simply need a theory that gives them the opportunity to dodge any sort of account for their actions.

According to scientists it is both a scientific and mathematical impossibility to pick one little rock from the whole universe and say yes there could be life on one of these little rocks among the billions of galaxies. A chance of 1 in 10/40000. That's one in 10 with 40,000 zeros after it.
Yet we are proof that life does exist on one of those little rocks.

Only that science can be proved through objective means. No one will tell you to believe in the law of gravity, just because. No one will demand your faith in mathematics. No one will threaten you to go to hell if you don't accept that Paris is the capital of France. No one will pray for the French Revolution...

I think that science/MATH and God's power may have some relation/correlation. In other words, I think God may be the greatest mathematician in the universe if you know what I mean.

Yes, science brings you closer to The One. God. .999999999
it is impossible to get to One. Because God is the infinite, the everlasting the Alpha and the Omega. Science is a way to see his accurate, precise art work.
