It would more than double the amount of land to bury people on if we would be buried standing up. Why not with a glass coffin and approx.1 1/2 foot sticking up out of the ground so we could see whats going on! Any takers?

Assumeing evolution and this genre of science from that time period, that humans have been on Earth earlier than an Adam and Eve, is the final "nail in the coffin"; what is the reason that people are still religious in 2006?

Will the future generations in the 21rst Century be religious, or will they be taught the history of it, that with high population densities in places where farming came about, those in control of the land - the Kings, etc. invented religion as a means of control,

Will the children of this generation, generation X, grow up to stop the cycle of control?

This is a very serious and interesting question for people who love to think. So, ake your time to read it. I posted the same question yesterday--but I am elaborating this in the new post.

Let's make a consistent assumption or hypothesis:
"Every event in space-time is unique." That means every incident
in past, present and future can have only single value not multiple values. This seems quite obvious because-"tomorrow just at 12:31 pm at the crossing of Tago Street and Mando Steet a car with number NY786654 will pass through" this is an unique event(although we don't know it until it happens--this is another assumption but we agree that an unique event will happen in some future space-time with or without predestination). Although, multiple values can be assigned to a future event
but that implies probability and our ignorance about the future(our ignorance about the future is actually also an assumption which seems obvious).
Also, let's make another hypothesis:
"Every event is connected by cause and effect."
Now, let's say that somebody knows what will happen in some particular future. Now, he decides to change that event. What will happen? According to the second hypothesis--he will either forget
his decision or some unknown force will prevent him to change the event[1].
Now, think of a particular situation-- The person
saw the future of a piece of paper in snap-shot(He saw that piece of paper on the top of a table in the house of one of his friend in a party at 11:45 am and 12:45 am Monday September 29 2006 in NY city).
So, he arrived at the party before 11:45 am and the moment(11:45 am) he saw the piece of paper--he challenged the people in the party to burn that piece of paper within 30 minutes(that is before 12:45 am).
What will happen if the above two HYPOTHESES holds??

On 60 minutes just now, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad just said: "Those that don't accept good will have a bad fate."

That is an extremely open ended statement. I seriously don't think that his idea of good matches my idea of good. Is anyone else worried that this religious crazed man (who interrupted his interview for prayer) now has Uranium to play with?

To my christian brothers and sisters, Do you see this as another prophecy being fulfilled about the mark of the beast or no? All answers would be grately appreciated by believers in christ, Atheist and agnostic dont need to answer this one since you say "there is not a god". :)

Arabs) slaughtered them, leaving the Christians to represent only 35% of the population. Israel is now fighting these Muslims (Arabs).
WOW either Christianity is a really pathetic religion, or most Christians are just plain stupid?

They are not. The leaders of the Christian Coalition are not being hung on crosses (Philippians 2:8). The leaders of the Family Research Council are not being stoned to death (Acts 7:59). The leaders of Focus on the Family are not being thrown to the lions (Daniel 6:16). All they have to worry about is someone calling them bad names and denying them their request for favoritism.

There is an old joke: a wife returns home suddenly to find her husband in bed with another woman. Unfazed, the husband looks up from the sheets at her and, with great indignation, demands: Who are you going to believe? Me, or your lying eyes? It seems to me that right now almost the entire world is like that wife, looking down at that husband, who represents Islam.

As we look around the world at the veritable orgy of violence directed at Infidels - from the killings of 200,000 Christians in East Timor, the murders of Christians in the Moluccas, the bomb in Bali directed mostly at Australian Christians, the attack on Filipino Christian peasants in the Philippines, the plots uncovered in Singapore, the Christians, Sikhs, and Hindus persecuted and often murdered by Muslims in Kashmir and Pakistan, the attacks on Jews all over the Muslim world, but especially in the Arab world, the attacks on non-Muslims, 800 of whom were held hostage in a Moscow theatre, the attacks in New York and Washington, that killed 3000, the plots uncovered in Spain, and Italy, and France, and Holland, and Norway, and Germany, and almost everywhere in the Infidel world - all tell us one thing. Yet, the world of organized Islam, including those we are repeatedly told are "moderate", keep telling us: Who are you going to believe? Us, or your lying eyes?

I'm just assuming that there will be two groups of people who will read this, the ones who will tell me I need Jesus, and the people who live in the real world. If you want to tell me I need Jesus, please feel free.

So for those of us in the real world, what event in history made the man-made invention of religion irrelevant, making it is what it is today, cults for weak minded people?

Is it Galileo and Copernicus looking through their telescope? Is it Charles Darwin on the Galapagos? What, in your mind, was the final blow to religion, proving once and for all that this was an invention of aristorcracy as a means of control.

It's funny the things we say to describe our faith and what it involves. Sometimes I think the words we say, most of us don't even know what they mean.

For example, what does it mean when a Christian says they are having their Devotions? What does "devotions" mean? It that the same as Quiet Time, the time when we tune everyone and everything out for awhile to devote to our Lord?

Thanks.

I know we are supposed to carry the message of Christ to all the world but I believe that teaching and sharing and living it are the best ways. Don't you think that a gentle message is better received? Personally when people get aggressive or loud I tend to stop listening. But when they whisper I lean in to hear. Your feelings please?
Peace Be With You,
Debra
