It's funny the things we say to describe our faith and what it involves. Sometimes I think the words we say, most of us don't even know what they mean.

For example, what does it mean when a Christian says they are having their Devotions? What does "devotions" mean? It that the same as Quiet Time, the time when we tune everyone and everything out for awhile to devote to our Lord?

Thanks.

yes-- that what "devotions" are--reading and meditating on Gods Word...and I hear you-- religious lingo makes me crazy, but maybe that why I would rather be considered a "Jesus Freak" than a religious person...

Devotions are quiet times spent away from the rest of the world. It usually involves prayer, bible reading, and just being still and knowing that He is God. I also like to use my devotional time to listen to praise & worship music.

Devotions often refer to Devotional books: books that help us understand the Word of God and apply it to everyday life.

Yep, devotion is quite time, to reflect on Gods word, and not be disturbed.
