Waaaaaahhh. I "witnessed" to someone and they didn't immediately kneel down and say the sinner's prayer. I'm so persecuted. I even heard someone say they didn't believe in god. Oh why must I be so tormented!? Even though I mostly succeeded in getting evolutionary theory removed from high schools, they didn't start teaching "god did it all by magic" instead. How can we be expected to suffer such a burden!? ...and to add insult to injury, the gay people aren't all in prison yet! Oh why oh why am I so persecuted.

Persecution is in the eye of the beholder so to speak--if you were constantly being ridiculed-objects that hold a great deal of meaning to you are being added to, to make them look foolish. Its no different than that high school bully who picked on the "mentally challenged". If you stood up for the person who was being ridiculed you yourself became the object of ridicule verbally and sometimes physically, although we cannot see the scars that are there from the words that does not mean those "battle wound scars" are not there.
Words can be extremely hurtful, even vengeful, have you ever been hurt by someone saying something that wasn't true, or was a distorted version of the truth. While you may not see the physical persecution here in the U.S. there is a type of persecution (the key word being type), there are christians in other countries who are being persecuted for their beliefs in the physical sense of the word, but an attack of the mouth against someone can sometimes be more damaging than any physical attack.
Of course this a purely philosophical answer, one I am sure you won't like, but there it is.

Only fundamentalists think they are persecuted. Catholics and those mainstream protestants don't feel that way. These fundamentalists, they don't even grasp the depth of the word PERSECUTION. I find it laughable that some even think they're persecuted just because their families didn't LIKE their conversion to fundamentalism! They have this delusion-like feeling of living in the early christian era. And yes, to feel persecuted is to feel holy for them. It makes them feel good.

I just hope that someday we can allow American Christians to live openly and marry one another without constitutional amendments making it illegal. Someday, we may even have a Christian president or maybe even 43 of them, consecutively. Poor American Christians, how they suffer at the hands of others. Forced to hide their Christian beliefs just to keep a job and a roof over their head. Maybe someday we will have freedom of religion and stop nailing poor Christians to the cross.
Of course the Christians who cry so much about non-existent persecution, have no problem dishing it out to others. Just ask the Gays.

Everyones persecuted in some way or another, I think it's just better to present whether or not Christians are persecuted more than everyone else on average. Maybe some evidence one way or another would let the rest of the world not be so critical of their whining.

People who were persecuted at one time in history must make a continuously big deal out of it for fear of losing a certain advantage. Look at WW2 jew holocaust as an example. They suffered greatly at the hands of the Nazis (and even their own) but they still use that as an argument to demand an extra consideration. Wonder why anytime a movie about the holcaust gets out it gets an Oscar?

Are those groups really Christian to begin with.
The 700 Club has offices in Israel. Give the 700 Club money and they turn a blind eye towards Israel. Doesn't sound like a Christian organization to begin with.
