There is an old joke: a wife returns home suddenly to find her husband in bed with another woman. Unfazed, the husband looks up from the sheets at her and, with great indignation, demands: Who are you going to believe? Me, or your lying eyes? It seems to me that right now almost the entire world is like that wife, looking down at that husband, who represents Islam.

As we look around the world at the veritable orgy of violence directed at Infidels - from the killings of 200,000 Christians in East Timor, the murders of Christians in the Moluccas, the bomb in Bali directed mostly at Australian Christians, the attack on Filipino Christian peasants in the Philippines, the plots uncovered in Singapore, the Christians, Sikhs, and Hindus persecuted and often murdered by Muslims in Kashmir and Pakistan, the attacks on Jews all over the Muslim world, but especially in the Arab world, the attacks on non-Muslims, 800 of whom were held hostage in a Moscow theatre, the attacks in New York and Washington, that killed 3000, the plots uncovered in Spain, and Italy, and France, and Holland, and Norway, and Germany, and almost everywhere in the Infidel world - all tell us one thing. Yet, the world of organized Islam, including those we are repeatedly told are "moderate", keep telling us: Who are you going to believe? Us, or your lying eyes?

To be fair, the ones that don't support or commit the violence are in their right to critize you for calling them violent. I think the issue is that you expect them to associate themselves with the violent ones and then be outraged at them, whereas the muslim population doesn't associate them as part of the "same group" so they're offended by any associations made between the two.

I'm sure that Christians associated with those Christians that bomb abortion clinics respond the same way. The difference is mostly in the numbers.

All religions think of themselves as religions of peace. All of them.

That said all beliefs divide people into groups of believers and non-believers. That is always the beginning of an adversarial relationship and alienates people and hurts them. All beliefs hurt people because the main use of beliefs is to declare membership in a family, tribe, denomination, or organization.

That includes Christianity, Judiasm, Islam, and even Buddhism.

If we want peace we have to care about all people and abandon our beliefs as the source of our deep divides.

As much as any religion is. All religions have been used as tools by politicians or men wanting power.

Christians have a long history of murdering muslims, as do Hindus. Infact India's only period of religious peace in centuries was during the reign of Akbar, and other muslim Moguls. Read about him.
Akbar wiki:

The Qu'ran, the supposed words of Allah, specifically recognises those of the christian and jewish faith as rigteous good people who wll go to heaven if they follow their religion.

Other relgiions kill muslims as much as muslims kill others. Even sects of sunni and shi'ism in Islam have fought eachother for centuries. Just prodestants and catholics. They all kill eachother.

Yes and No.

All of the worlds major religions are of peace. But what really counts is how many people practice it in that way. Islam for the most part is good, but there is a small percentage which twist and manipulate it to feed their own ends.

Terrorists are blinded by ignorance and hate, no matter what religion they are.

Believe me there are moderate Muslims. The problem is in Islamic teachings and Muslim scholars who categorize the world into Muslims and non-Muslims.

Islam helped the Arabs gain peace against the Jews and Romans, after both were conquered within 100 years after Muhammad's death.

Read the PRIMARY source of Islam, the Quran, and you will find your answer. PS: don't negate the Crusades. PS: has it occurred to you that these are lies. There are over 1 billion Muslims worldwide. Remember how people lied and hated Jesus. People really believed Jesus was a lie. I mean really believed he was evil. People hated the prophets in the pass. Do you see a parallel?

I know Islam and it is, just as Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, a religion of peace.. Keep in mind that it is the radical elements of Islam that are NOT practicing their religion as it is written in the Quor'n... I have read the Quor'n and it makes no reference to what the radical murderers of Islam are doing today.
