Okay, I've been trying to look for some information about the 666. I've heard things about the 555 and 888 being holy or something. Does anyone else have any information about this?

I am looking to start attending church but would like your opinions on what denomination is right for me. I am looking for a denomination with a very openminded view of the bible(i.e. no Bible bashers who take every word of the Bible literally. Of course of main importance is that they preech that Jesus lived and died for our sins and that the 10 commandments are from God. I am a good person and want to be around good people at Church, but no ultra conservative people who go around damning non-Christians, for they tend to be the ones with great hate in their hearts. I'd like a friendly upbeat liberal denomination where I can meet good people, ideas? Thanks!

I been reading alot of posts and mostly what I see is one side bashing another and vice versa. I'm not talking about people asking about valid points which could go either way and by questioning things which might not see quite right to them. I'm talking about the people who insult the other side.

I do thank the people who answer my question and give references showing the basis for their thoughts. I myself try to be polite with my answers myself giving the reason for what I believe.

Is it so hard to admit that it could be right either way without taking offence to it that you could be wrong.

Religious, Agnostic, or Atheist. Any of the three could be right way to be, but none of them are the wrong way to be. Until there is the absolute truth about one is far better than the others, no one has the right to say so.

Believe in your beliefs but, just have acceptance and have an open mind towards the the others without the insults.

How many fetuses did he abort in the flood waters before they were even given a chance to be born? How many little children to God slaughter in those days? How long did the last little girl struggle to stay alive before her strength gave out and she drowned? Did God have mercy on her and push her little head under to speed up her death, or did he make her struggle and suffer till the bitter end? The bible says that the last days will be as the days of Noah. As a Christian, are you looking forward to the Holy blood bath again? Are you cheerfully looking forward to the destruction of the "wicked" including the children both born and unborn?

Did you ever see that episode with the all-powerful boy, Anthony Fremont, who could read people's minds and then if they didn't like him he would throw them to die in the cornfield?

Is God like that? He reads our minds and if we don't love Him He throws us into Hell to suffer for eternity. No wonder why everyone wanted to sneak up on the boy and kill him. Everybody was so afraid of the boy that all the kids tried to avoid Him.

Most (not all) people who believe God exists point to books, holy scripture, or other writings as proof of existence. Most (not all) people who believe God doesn't exist point to the same writings as works of fiction. If God is all, then he exists and doesn't exist at the same time. That is a paradox. Do, then, the writings of faith prove his existence, non existence, or both? Thoughts?

When I was 7 or 8 years old, I was staying with my Grandma Lorine & my father. My grandmother & I saw Jesus standing outside of the living room window standing beside a tree. I told my father so he went outside and stood beside the tree, we were worried because he stayed so long, when he came back inside he said that there was no one outside and I told him that he was still by the tree and that he was standing beside him the whole time. A little later, I saw Jesus' standing over my grandmother's bed.
Since then, I have had many many more sightings of Jesus and of course, the Angels come to. I have talked to people about this, and a preacher said that I was blessed to have seen the Heavenly Father and not to take for granted the gift that God has given me.

Theyre beliefs are based on one persons word ( Joseph Smith) who said god spoke to him and gave him the power to read some tablets(that no one has ever seen) and gave him instructions for better life.

theyre religion is so ridiculous they had to move to the middle of nowhere (utah) so people who where not mormon could not interact with them.
