Forget religion, to me an unforgiveable sin is raping a child. I'm very pro-death penalty when it comes to that. This coming from someone who is pro-choice on the opposite side of that coin.

"You must be holy, because I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15, 16) Such unholy practices as fornication, adultery, homosexual acts, bestiality, and incest were not to corrupt the Christian congregation. Those refusing to stop engaging in such things would be excluded from God's Kingdom. (Romans 1:26, 27; 2:22; 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10; Hebrews 13:4)

It has to do with a person that is saved at one point, has experienced the power of the Holy Spiritin in their "own" life and later on denies it and ultimately the faith.

I heard this story once:

A pastor's wife was very pretty and had a beautiful voice. One day a demon came and spoke to her ear: "You know, you could be famous with your looks and your voice, you could be a Hollywood star", she rejected the "thought" and it left her for a season.
The demon came back, and again whispered in her ear: "You are wasting your time here, nobody recognizes your talents, nobody cares about you, you could be famous if you wanted, you are so beautiful...." again she rejected the "voice".
But it came over and over again, but one day she chose to entertain the thought for a while, all of the sudden I saw a black spot in her mind, every time the demon came and whispered these things in her ear, this spot started to grow bigger and bigger, until one day, she left her husband and the church. After a few years, a brother from her church found her, she was singing in a cheap bar, looking 20 years older. He decided to talk to her about the love and mercy of God. Told her God was waiting for her to come back to Him, and willing to forgive her. She turned to him and cursed. She cursed the church and even God."

(the story is real, the demon and black dot was shown to a preacher operating in the gift of discernment of spirits as he explained regarding this situation)

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

I think it is when we reject the Spirit of God. The Bible says it is "blaspheming the Holy Spirit." But how would you blaspheme the Holy Spirit?
The Pharisees saw Jesus working miracles and said He was possessed by a demon. They were saying He was demon possessed instead of filled with the Spirit of God.

It may be blasphemy to continually reject the Holy Spirits promptings to trust in Jesus. It is an unpardonable state of existence. "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him would not perish but receive eternal life."

Atheism.

It is unforgivable, because if you are an atheist, you won't ask for forgiveness.

I've looked into this quite a bit, since I used to be an atheist.

If you know where it is in scripture, then why ask someone elses definition?, for God has given you your answer in scripture. You need no other. I pray for you. Amen

Refusing to choose Jesus Christ- in effect, denying the Holy Spirit...

Jesus made the only path to God, if you refuse Him you refuse God and choose hell, forever without God.
