Those who are religious, "Christian", atheist, of any faith system choose evil.
NO one thinks choosing the wrong thing to do is good! -- if they did, they would have anti-social personality and they would need to be on medication-- no matter what religion they came from. So I think you need to expand on what you consider evil. Assuming you are Christian, evil is very broad, from lying to murdering and in God's eyes it's all the same, right? doesn't make sense, but whatever!@

the beauty in being able to choose evil and not good is the fact that you KNOW you're free! Wouldn't you feel better if you could choose between 2 or more things instead of 1. knowing that you have a choice instead of having to obey?

It was not meant for us to choose evil over God. Free Will was given to us so God could have a real relationship with a being that can choose freely.

IF HE WANTED ROBOTS, he would have created us like that, but instead he choose to create beings that would actually have a brain of its own to communicate intellectually and freely with him. And that is why he loves us so dearly..... even when some go against him.... he knows its because of the devil's influences, but he still loves us and gives us a way to find our way home one day.

God bless all my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Free will is more than just choosing between good and evil.

Animals cannot choose either good or evil. They also cannot be loyal, courteous, kind, cheerful, brave, or reverent.

Animals cannot have faith in anyone or anything, have hope in the future, or love anybody.

Animals cannot love God with all their heart and with all their soul and with all their mind and with all their strength. They cannot love their neighbors as themselves.

God gave us free will out of His (or Her) wisdom and love. He wants humans to share in His being, wisdom, and goodness.

Therefore the Psalmist exclaims: "O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all"; and "The LORD is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made."

With love in Christ.
