i am a catholic and i am going to baptize my daughter this week... the thing is i have only been to 2 of them they were mine and my brothers... but i am too young to remember. so i was wondering if there was anyone that could tell me what it is that they do?thank you very much...stefany

Pretty much what happens in the first godfather movie during the baptism of Michael's son, only without the killing in the background. I grew up catholic as did the director and he was on the money.

Didn't you have a meeting with the priest? Didn't he sit down and talk with you and the prospective God parents? This is part of the process and must be done before the baptizing. He will explain it all to you.

good for u , good u have a daughter , oh congratulations but actually i am an Orthodox so i dnt knw but u can ask ur priest he will tell call him now , n congratulations again , n sorry i couldn't help .

I recommend that you discuss this with your Priest or a Nun. That way you will get a correct answer.

a lot of prayer, then they just dip the top of the baby's head in holy water.
