i dont think anyone that says that they dont believe in God have enough blind faith to be an atheist...do you know how much it takes to belive all of that crap when there is so much that proves creationism and Jesus?

WOW! Okay, first of all there is NO scientific evidence of creationism or the bible or any of THAT crap! Take an entry level college biology class and you will learn that all forms of life EVOLVED and that is the basis for all of scientific study. If you want blind faith, try believing something with no evidence other that a book that was written in many parts over thousands of years, and interpretated many times by men with hidden agendas (i.e. King James). Wow, christians must be bigger idoits than I thought......Did you know that Adam and Eve rode to church on dinosaurs??

you say that *atheists* have "blind faith"? that's a new one.... :)

and there really isn't much proving creationism. there's a little *suggesting* that jesus existed (eg the shroud of turin), but there's quite a lot that counts against creationism. think carbon dating, fossils, and others. and *please* don't say "god made fossils so we'd think the earth was older". if the bible is true, and the earth really is only 6000 years old, why did god not just leave everything as-is and not make it look older? because people seem able to handle the idea so it can't be "unknowable" or "divine information" or anything....

to conclude: there's a little suggesting jesus, but not much (at *all*) proving OR suggesting creationism. in that light, atheists are hardly the ones to be blamed for "blind faith"

=edit=

"twinklecomfort" (below) has a good point - the bible etc SAYS that other people will be unbelievers, so just leave them alone. they're meant to be here, and if they decide ('cause remember the part about FREE WILL) *not* to believe or "save their souls", let them. stop trying to force religion (of any kind really) on those who function fine without it.....

Atheism is a belief in _no_ god.

It is very easy to knock more holes into the theory of Creationism, "Intelligent Design", or whatever else they come up with, than one can find in a tea strainer.

The proof that the theology of Jesus is true, depends upon saying, "I Believe".
For some people, that point comes because they see:
* The historical of the New Testament is accurate;
* The prophecies in the Tanakh come about in the New Testament;
* etc.
And in the end, they accept the proposition, on the basis of _faith_, not logic. Not reason.

For the atheist, the point of accepting that proposition does not come. It is much simpler, and easier to say: "There is no God", than it is say: "Out of all of these entities claiming to be God, this one is telling the truth."

Do you accept the blind Faith of the Christian, or the blind Faith of the Atheist?

Ok..you could totally take that comment and just change a few words to make it go the other way (see below). What about so much that disproves creationism.

i dont think anyone that says that they believe in God have enough blind faith to be a [insert religion here]...do you know how much it takes to belive all of that crap when there is so much that disproves creationism and Jesus?

Get over your ignorant ways, people have different beliefs, people always will...no one is trying to force their religion on you, why force your religion on others.

First of all, the whole point of atheism is that people don't accept the approach of just taking beliefs "on faith," so it is an illogical contradiction to claim that atheism is "blind faith."

Second, the reason people are atheists - at least in the context of a society where Christian religious beliefs are predominant - is precisely because there isn't any good empirical evidence for creationism, or for the idea that Jesus was a god.

Christians are to stupid and naive, they have been raised to believe what they still believe right now, they do not question bcz they are afraid of finding out the truth... plzplzplzplz IM me with something that proves creationism and Jesus... Meanwhile, evolution has been proved 100% with the missing links, with the ancestors of animals that were preserved as a fossil... Jesus does not appear anywhere besides the Bible, same thing as the Jews 40 walking trough the desert, the great flood of Noah, and many many many other things Christians claim as "history"...

Creationism is fake science and there's no evidence that Jesus existed apart from the Bible stories -- which are uncorroborated.

Atheism does not require blind faith. Just the opposite, in fact.

I believe that people can believe wholeheartedly in all forms of beliefs, faiths, untruths, and everything! Because it's their choice to see things the way they believe them to be! Then if you believe and have faith in God (Jesus Christ), He says in His Word that people would! Before you or I had a belief and faith in God (Jesus Christ) we believed a version of something else probably as truth or a hope for the truth! All individuals who don't believe are at the same place that I was - when I didn't quite know the Truth! Since no one can come to God (Jesus Christ) unless thru the prompting of the Holy Spirit - I pray for all souls that are to know Jesus Christ - for this to happen for them! Thru reading His word - I already know that there are people who don't believe - because He (Jesus Christ) says so! I don't think anything when I hear them state their beliefs!

Creationism is a theory that has no empirical evidence to support it. Personally I don't have blind faith; if I did, I would still be giving lip service to a deity I do not believe exists. I respect anyones right to believe as they will and as for myself, I will believe what I believe to be correct for myself.

Atheists are just looking for attention. They get a rush from the 'wow' factor they receive from other people. "Wow, this guy really doesn't believe in God! What a rebel! He's so different! He must know something I don't and be really smart!"

When actually, it's just the reverse. These people are ignorant, arrogant fools and they're extremely hypocritical. Example: if an "Atheist" were to get into a terrible car crash on the way home tonight and be trapped inside a burning car with the fire getting closer and closer to them and they knew there was no way out and they were going to die in minutes, they'd scream out God's name and pray for help. They'd be crying out loud for God to save them, or they'd be apologizing for everything they'd done wrong throughout their entire lives. I know it, you know it and they know it.

Of course, they'll never admit to that. They'll just deny it because believing in God to them is a weakness. They have an image to uphold. But if it came down to their life or the life of their Mother, trust me, they'd be praying their a$$es off to the God they supposedly don't believe in.
