There are a variety of levels of intelligence (to state the obvious). However a lot of unwise behavior is the result of human sinfulness.
It is rather stupid for instance to play Russian Roulette (yet people do so). It is rather stupid to indulge in a variety of sins, which are essentially forms of Russian Roulette -- and yet many people choose to do so... illustrations of human sinfulness (as described in the Bible).

From your point of view some people might be stupid.but from another person's point of view you might be stupid.To generalize everyone by asking a question without specifying anyone and just saying "people" you open yourself up to the fact that a person is a member of people and people is rooted in the word person and as a person you are people.Kind of stupid...
