WHAT IF:

Jesus already came back (quietly). . .say five years ago, and your devotion wasn't sufficient and you were "left behind" without even knowing it. . .until just now?

I'm saying "what if". . .so don't tell me "it didn't happen". . .because I don't think it did happen. . .but what if??

I mean, what's left for us to do then?

It seems sort of selfish to make demands on mothers and on the system and not do you part in adopting children. Especially those who are not easily adopted - older kids, minorites, and kids with disabilities. After all, isn't that something Christ would do?

Is it because they are going by what paul said in the Bible? If so, then women shouldn't cut their hair or wear pants either. I believe that things like that just pertained to those times and that times changes. Why would they stop someone from from full filling their full potential in serving Christ?

By the way, this question is not hostile....just curious

First, let me say that I am a Christian. I picked up one of Sylvia's books in the library. I was skeptical but interested. When I read her book The Other Side and Back it really intrigued me, especially the information about Christian reincarnation and the books in the Bible that were banned on the subject by the council of Constantinople in 543 A.D. Sylvia talks about her spirit guide and what she has revealed to her about Heaven and that there are things that the spirit guide is not allowed to reveal at all. What are your thoughts on psychics? Are you familiar with Sylvia Browne?

I'm not religious, but I celebrate Christian holidays with my family. When I was very small, my Grampy told me about the Easter Frog, who helped the Easter Bunny colour eggs and deliver candy.

But every time I mention the Easter Frog, everyone looks at me like I've just turned into a platypus. Real or not, the Easter Frog should be known to little children everywhere!

I have read alot of people's answers on here and it is sad..Do you want your life to be better? I beg of everyone who hasn't done it yet ...pray this simple prayer...Lord, i know I am a sinner, and I believe that you sent your Son to die for humankind that we may have an opportunity to live forever. I repent of my sins and invite you into my life... Just ask sincerly and it will be given it is the most important decision you will ever make. We are only on this earth a short time compared to eternity. He loves everyone, no matter where you come from and He wants everyone to be saved. Please think about this..very seriously.

How do Christians expect non believers to take them seriously when their are so many branches of it. I mean Lutheran, Babtist, Presbyterian, Catholics, and so many others I cannot name. Why not agree on the differences, band together, and really do some good for the world? This is why I have my own doubts about being a believer. Why believe in something that doesn't believe in itself. Somebody educate me please.

P.S. I respect peoples beliefs and would never try to change or argue with what someone believes, but I just want someone who is more educated on the subject than me to answer this. Thank you.

Christians say that God loves us all and wants us all to go to heaven, and in order to do that, we must believe that Jesus died for our sins and ask for forgiveness. But if this is so, why did he make us all so different?

By doing so, could he really expect us to believe the same thing?

The story of Jephthah's daughter is recorded in the eleventh chapter of Judges, beginning with verse 29:

Then the spirit of Yahweh came upon Jephthah and he passed through Gilead and Manaseh… Jephthah made this vow to Yahweh: 'If thou will deliver the Amonites into my hands, then the first creature that comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return from them in peace shall be given to Yahweh; I will offer that as a whole-offering.' So Jephthah crossed over to attack the Ammonites, and Yahweh delivered them into his hands… But when Jephthah came to his house in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him with tambourines and dances but his daughter, and she his only child… When he saw her he rented his clothes and said, 'Alas, my daughter, you have broken my heart… I have made a vow to Yahweh and I cannot go back.' She replied, 'Father, you have made a vow to Yahweh; do to me what you have solemnly vowed, since Yahweh has avenged you on the Ammonites, your enemies. But, father, grant me this one favor. For two months let me be, that I may roam the hills with my companions and mourn that I must die a virgin.' … At the end of two months she came back to her father, and he fulfilled the vow he had made; she died a virgin. For example, if Jesus were to appear to you today and tell you that there is much more to know then what is currently taught in the Bible, would you be open minded and consider changing your beliefs?

Are your religious beliefs all "sewn up" or is their room for a higher understanding of life? Do you feel spiritual discernment and spiritual growth are necessary or do you believe you should simply believe everything you have been taught about Christianity as being true? If so, why?
