There has to be a compromise where your Grandma is concerned. If he doesn't approve, then that is his choice but he should be understanding that she is your Grandma and she is important to you. Your Grandma's voodoo is her belief just as christianity is your boyfriends belief. If it comes down to it and if this man is worth being with you, maybe you could talk to your Grandma about not mentioning her beliefs while he is near. But, if he can't show respect and understanding about your Grandma's voodoo, then maybe he isn't the right man for your life?

The first thing you should do is make certain that 'life can be great without voodoo' has been thoroughly explained to her. Then, assuming she is capable of making her own decisions, she should be left to make them without interference from others. If she's your grandmother, she's old enough to know right from wrong. I can see the concern of you and your preacher boyfriend. I share that concern, as a matter of fact. Pray that sooner or later she sees the light of reality - not the darkness of voodoo...

Make sure he disapproves for the right reasons. God condemns, not just the whole practice of the occult, but also the specific methods, rituals, and mumbo-jumbo words used. See the following
[Lev. 19:26; 2 Kings 17:17; Isa. 47:9,12; Jer. 27:9; 2 Kings 21:6; 2 Chron. 33:6; Isa. 3:20; Rev. 9:21]

Tell him that Grandma makes voodoo for Jesus. And then get Grandma to use her voodoo to make your stupid bf like voodoo. Why don't you just get a nice bf instead of some dumb preacher? You should dump him.

LET'S HERE IT FOR THE BOY PREACHER:
De 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
De 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
De 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
De 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
De 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Do you practice voodoo? If not then your boyfriend should not worry about what your grandmother does.
If you do practice voodoo, then it is time to sit down with him and have a serious talk about the importance of religion in your lives and how that may effect you as a couple.

He's not dating Grandma. She is a grown woman who makes her own decisions. If he wants to leave you because of this, oh well. Maybe he isn't the man God intended you to have. True, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. But he has to understand that you have no control over her. He doesn't have to be around her, and if so maybe Grandma could compromise and not use voodoo around him.

I don't blame him. As long as you aren't doing it, but the Scriptures are clearly against such things, and you should know this. I married a Preacher and you both pretty much need to be on the same page spiritually or it won't work. Alot of ministry goes on and you will have to be very grounded in the Word.

If he loves you then he'll leave Grandma alone. If he won't decide if he's worth keeping or slip Grandma a $20 to keep it all on the down low.
No seriously, Grandma shouldn't be expected to change for him. Good luck.
