The story of Jephthah's daughter is recorded in the eleventh chapter of Judges, beginning with verse 29:

Then the spirit of Yahweh came upon Jephthah and he passed through Gilead and Manaseh… Jephthah made this vow to Yahweh: 'If thou will deliver the Amonites into my hands, then the first creature that comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return from them in peace shall be given to Yahweh; I will offer that as a whole-offering.' So Jephthah crossed over to attack the Ammonites, and Yahweh delivered them into his hands… But when Jephthah came to his house in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him with tambourines and dances but his daughter, and she his only child… When he saw her he rented his clothes and said, 'Alas, my daughter, you have broken my heart… I have made a vow to Yahweh and I cannot go back.' She replied, 'Father, you have made a vow to Yahweh; do to me what you have solemnly vowed, since Yahweh has avenged you on the Ammonites, your enemies. But, father, grant me this one favor. For two months let me be, that I may roam the hills with my companions and mourn that I must die a virgin.' … At the end of two months she came back to her father, and he fulfilled the vow he had made; she died a virgin. Japhthah's made a vow to God, as her father he had the right if need be to sell her to or to make a vow Exodus 21:7-11
Time were different then, but 1 thing has not changed. A father and mother are still responsible for thier unmarried children an the children should remain in subjection to their parents until they marry or come of age.
Eph 6:1-4 and Gen 2:24

First, God didn't command any child sacrifices; this was Jephthah's big mouth.

Second, the Hebrew can be translated as "offered or dedicated to the Lord." It is very likely that she was not burned alive, but rather was dedicated to God's service, and never married; therefore, she died a virgin. If this was a burnt offering, do you think the number one thing on her mind would be her virginity, or her life?

People have attributed terrible devilish activities to a God. Naturally this is confusing. In addition there have been false Gods down through history. They set up false religions, led people into war, for their own glory and profit -- Just remember that there have been false gods too. You have read history by scribes who gave the best they had and it was better than nothing but much of it needed to be taken with a grain of salt. Now when you wish to study further, the history recorded by the Creator's heavenly angels is open to you. It is a study. It is long and complex. It is difficult and you can do it if & when you wish. But it is open to you .Much of what was taught is false . Find out for yourself if you wish; and not if you do not wish.

Jephthah's daughter became a Nethinim, serving in the santuary.
An animal sacrifice was given in her place. Other Bible references clears this up. Man right now, I don't have time to look them up for you, gota go to work
