Yes. Most of the bible prophesies are already fulfilled.This means that the second coming of Jesus is near. Therefore, the antichrist is around because he will take charge after the rapture.

In the first century, there were already many antichrists (1 John 2:18). Why would it be different now? There have always been, and will continue to be those who are against Christ (ie, are anti-Christ).

As far as the belief of the devil incarnate coming to take over the world, the Bible doesn't teach it. In fact, the word 'antichrist' doesn't even appear in Revelation.

There is still much to be done and the anti Christ will be a younger male in the line of David, so that the Jews will accept him.

The Jews(Israelites) still need to occupy the promised land, and that means yet another world war must be fought. And yes, that seems to be close to happening.

After this, they will need to build their temple, and then the anti christ will appear and start his reign of calm(terror in disquise)

He will most likely start his reign 3 and one half years after the temple has been built and sacrifises have been started again, because the bible states that the temple will be corrupted at this point, so I am thinking that this is when the Israelites accept him as the Christ that they have been waiting for, because he will have been the one that now rules the world and calls them his chosen ones. THe Israelites have always wanted Christ to be a conquerer, so they will accept him and his ways.

So, do we have a while yet, yes, no one knows how long a world war will last even after it starts. But it seems that there is much time yet.

I believe that concept is a myth. It's a way of people's excusing the bad things in life on a non- existing entity. "The devil is responsible for that" is such a cop out for not doing anything about the bad stuff in life. It's very easy to pin that Antichrist title on just about anyone that isn't the same as us.

Governments where pictured as wild beasts.
Governments where what Daniel said would be destroyed at armageddon. Governments are the antichrist.
