I realize that many people oppose Islam saying that it is a religion of violence and it was spread by sword. On the other hand, I see people defending Islam to death saying that it is the most peaceful religion on Earth and that people critizing Islam are just jealous of its success.

Can anyone tell me whther Islam is a religion of violence or peace? also, for those defending Islam, why they think people try to attack Islam? is it just out of jealousness?

Serious answers only please.

As a Christian, would you favor a government based entirely on the principles of the Bible, or would you prefer a secular government based on reason that was entirely nonreligious (but would do nothing to inhibit religious practices among non-governmental groups)?

For example, a secular government would prohibit displaying the ten commandments on government buildings, forbid prayer in public schools, and show no preference for any religion.

On the other hand, a Biblically based government would base its laws on the text of the Bible, (forbidding abortion, homosexuality, etc.) Such a government would also strongly endorse churches (if church attendance was not made compulsory).

Please limit your answers to one of the two choices.

I am not being descriminatory, but as a biblical scholar I would really desire to hear from Devout Jews on this question. My tone of this question is not mocking but serious. I really want to know how Devout Jews feel about this important question.

and to find the truth you must seek enlightenment elsewhere. Where would you look for truth, given your not sure what parts of the Bible have been corrupted, and God's left it up to you figure it out.

This is a serious question, intended to produce thoughtful response. Serious replies only please.

1) Why should we think always of Jesus sufferance before and in time of crucification since other millions of people died in great sufferance for their faith, for their land, etc...? And they were innocents.
You can say it was a moral sufferance of some kind. But how can it be so special?

2) Why it is said that Jesus sacrificed for our sins? As far as I know he took away the sins of people who lived before him. But what has to do with people in present?

Thank you.

At some point such and such billions of years ago all matter in the universe was condensed into a very small lump of extremely dense material. Then, BOOM. The universe is born. Thats all fine and dandy, but I have to ask: where did this little lump of ultra dense matter come from? Also, when I picture this lump of matter in my head, I see this clump of matter floating in space, but some proponents of the theory claim the big bang created space and time. So, what is this clump of matter floating in? Nothing? How can nothing contain something? Likewise, what is the universe expanding into? If I am to believe that the big bang created an ever enlargening bubble of space inside of nothing? Again, nothing containing something? At the edge of this event there is nothing? Does this really make sense to any of you? BOOMING VOICE: In the beginning, there was nothing......except a clump of ultra dense matter, floating like a turd in the nothingness. Then the turd exploded...........
