God did create the universe he also instructs Christians in the Bible to not judge. That is not our job, I am a sinner and do not want other judging me also. There is nothing sinful that comes from God, that comes from satan. We are also not robots, we are created in the image of God and given the gift of salvation by his death on the cross to spend our eternity in Heaven. It is our choice whether we will spend eternity with him or not. Also remember, God is a God of love, he wants us to love Him, that is why he created us and why Christ died and the cross for us. He knows that we are all sinners, he forgives us for our sins, we just have to accept the gift of salvation.

i think it's a way better contradiction to point out that god is all-POWERFUL and they we have free will. you can't really say that it's a contraction that god is all-KNOWING and that we have free will. you see the difference?

like,, just because someone knows everything that someone is gonna do, that doesn't mean that they're CONTROLLING that person.

anyhow,,, you're on the right path. i'm just trying to refine it a little.

edit

yeah, i agree with you that free will is an illusion. all of your choices are dictated by your beliefs, opinions, and preferences.

and all of you beliefs, opinion, and preferences are determined by one of two things.

1. your brain

2. your environment

this is the whole nature vs. nurture argument. the thing is, everybody i've ever spoken to in my life says that it's probably a combination of the two. but i have asked all of these people if there is a third thing, and NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON has been able to name a third cause.

so do we choose our brain? no.
do we choose how we're raised? no.

so how can god expect certain behaviours when he has already dictated what our wants and needs are???? the best answer to this question is that there is no god.

I disagree. God did not create robots. He created man in His own image. God is not a robot, so we are not a robot. God created us with a free will. We CHOOSE to obey or disobey Him. You are right in that God is all knowing. What your question actually anwers is this: God knows that left to our own devices we will choose to disobey Him. We will due to our sinful nature. God doesn't judge us because of what we do/did wrong. On the contrary, He provides a way for us to come to Him through forgiveness. The forgiveness He offers is free. The work that Christ did on earth, being born of a virgin, living a sinless life, being crucified, dying and resurrecting on the 3rd day, paid the ransom to redeem us from an eternity in hell. Christ's blood pays for ALL your sins, past, present and future! If you believe in what Christ did, that He died for YOU, and you accept Him as your Savior, you too can spend eternity with God. See, the beauty of it is that man has the twisted logic that if he doesn't believe in God, then God doesn't exist. When in reality, God DOESN'T need you to believe in Him for Him to exist, man can't make the same claim! God created us so that we could have a relationship with Him. He allows us to choose to have that relationship with Him. He doesn't want to send anyone to hell. Christ didn't come to condemn the world but to save it. I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have.

God gave us free will. If you sin continually, you are a lost cause.
You are obviously an atheist by ur statements. Why worry about "religious people"? Why waste ur time? You must understand God is willing to give us a mind to choose and if you choose otherwise then bad things will happen and God is not in control over it.

So he gave us the choice already knowing we would sin and then punished us for it? OT

How can pre-determination and free-will be mutually exclusive. If we a destined to follow one particular path in life, surely it makes any idea of free-will a complete fallacy? We may think we have a choice but in the end we are like pieces on a chess set being moved on the whim of someone else.

You are seriously confused. God had a fight with an Archangle before man made it to the earth, and that archangel wanted mankind to be robots, His name was Lucifer by the way, perhaps you have heard of him? Anyway, God refused to do what Luci wanted and gave us free will, then he threw luci and all his buddies into hell where he could work to robotize humans. Have you noticed how well he has done? Its not Gods doing, its Lucifers. Accept Jesus into your life and have a chance to not be robotized.

Do you know EXACTLY, to the second, what you will be dong tomorrow?
Does your birth certificate have an expiration date on it?
It is still your free will. God knows your future but YOU DON'T. That is the mystery you have control over, not God. Only if you let Him, but not a minute before you say yes to Him.

you know you answered your own question. but I disagree. He can test us, we don't have to be faithful to him. We can choose what we want to believe because He gave us free will. So yes, He knows what caused us to sin but because He gave us free will, we choose to sin or not to sin. We are certainly not robots in His eyes. We are His creations, His masterpieces, His children. If you do not believe that, then I hope you find a better reason to believe.

God is all knowing. He knows that all have sinned because of our gran pa Adam. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Because of this He knew that there had to be somebody that was without sin to come to earth to shed His blood to take care of all sins. If you believe and trust in what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross for you then you have forgiveness of sins. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again for your justification. 2 Corinthians 5: 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
