Apes are not turning in to people today, and we have never found an intermediate stage EVER.

Sorry--Why does anyone believe that evolution makes sense when nothing is still evolving? It is late!!

2006-07-09 16:57:13 · update #2

I think it is amazing so many of you believe in this--didnt think people did really. Tell me if I took apart my watch, and put it in a bag and shook it for a million years, what are the chances when I opened that bag, my watch would be together. That is why I feel the big bang theory and all that does not make sense. And back to evolution, if there is really intermediate stages found, show me some pictures of it. I am not talking of mutation, interbreeding, etc.. Real examples of one thing turning into another thing! There is not any! Thanks everyone--keep answering!

You are right. Monkeys are still giving birth to monkeys, i mean if we are supposed to have evolved from them, then how come it has stopped now? Makes no sense! Also it appears that Darwin's THEORY of evolution is still just that, they have never been able to prove one scientific FACT that shows we ever evolved from apes! Now that is very strange if it were true. So it must be someone sold us a lie and all these people who are desperate not to believe in a Creator God just continue to believe a lie they cant prove!

Oh, sweetie, things evolve every minute. Let me tell you this little story, and it is only 300 or so years old.

At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution in England, most of the tree bark where a particular moth laid eggs was white.... the moth was white as well. Occasionally a blackish grey one would hatch, but it never made it to adulthood because the birds got it....it stood out tooooo much. As the soot from the coal collected on the trees and made them darker, guess what???? more of the grey-black ones survived. By the 1940's, the white moth of that particular species, was rare, since it now was the one that was easily seen by the birds. Beginning after 1953 when London had a killer smog, stricter air pollution rules were enacted, and as the trees got continuously washed with rain, and had less soot deposited on them guess what???? By 1980, only 30 years later, the trees again were white, and the white moth is now the dominant one once again. So, sweetie, that is just one example....evolution made a 360 degree turn in just a bit over 300 years!!!!!!!!!!! Similar things have occurred in birds in the Galapagos Island -- one species of finch was isolated on one island. This particular island is not on the tour, but the country of Ecuador has allowed a British biologist team to live there and to study this particular finch. After only 30 years of observation,(I wouldn't want the job, would you?) a relatively rare adaptation in a species of finch with a heavier bill is now the dominant one, because only its babies have survived two or three severe droughts on that island -- droughts in which only one plant is now dominant, and that plant produces really hard seeds -- too hard for the usual finch to crack. So, where 30 years ago a finch, THE finch on that island had a slim bill, now that same species of finch has a thick bill,,,,, evolution is going on all the time, but usually it is much slower than this. Nothing is evolving??? Are you brain dead??? Don't you ever read or watch Discovery????? Too bad, there is now so much interesting stuff being found out.

It is amazing how everyone has an opinion on evolution, but very few people actually understand anything about it. Why does everyone form their opinion without actually trying to understand what evolution is?

All life continues to evolve. It is impossible for it not to.

Evolution takes many generations to make dramatic changes. With insects and bacteria, many generations can live and die in a short period. That is why insecticides, flu shots, and other medicines need to be replaced with new ones after a few years. The insects and bacteria have evolved to tolerate them.

With fish, birds, and mammals, evolution is hard to notice since their life spans are so much longer. It is hard to witness these animals evolving in the course of one human life time, but the effects of evolution can still be noticed in some species by checking with history. Modern cows, horses, chickens, and dogs are very different than the same species of a few thousand years ago.

Despite claims to the contrary, the increasing height of humans is not evidence of evolution. A person's height does not significantly affect their chances of reproduction. The increasing height of humans is due to the effects of improved nutrition.

Please take the time to study evolution before preaching to others about it.

I totally agree, where in this so called evolutionary chain that species actually become different species. If nature wants perfection how come it takes so long that makes for easy elimination of species. If it takes to long to become strong.
Humans for instance, sure there were cromagnans and such but no true link to humans. No defining lines that connect us were is the proof the point that says we are now homosapians. They always give a vague 25,000 to some 40,000 years some cheap easy number they cant explain. We as a species have been around for 50,000 years and, no new toe for better balance or some baby born somewhere with 6 fingers for better grip, or someone in the world who uses more than 10% of there brain.
Why are elephants or leopards or whatever still the same they have been around longer than us. They havent mutated or become more adapt. Sharks or crocodiles, millions of years no change. There is no explanation. Like our scientists I have no answers just questions.

First, please learn to use proper grammar. As it is, your question makes little if any sense.

Evolution is the main doctrine of secular humanism. It is the only hope they currently have of being intellectually fulfilled without believeing in God.

As of yet, no method has been discovered that enables evolution. Evolution requires the addition of new information to the gene pool.

Believers in evolution point to examples of speciation as proof of evolution, but speciation is in fact the opposite of evolution. It is the destruction of genetic information through the process of mutation and natural selection.

Many examples that they use such as the black and white moths were hoaxes created in order to solidify their stand. In the case of the moths, the pictures were actually of dead moths pinned to a tree. The moths themselves did not follow the behaviour as described in the 'scientific' report. The next year, white moths were dominant again.

Sometimes they use the fossil record to attempt to prove their point. Unfortunately most of the fossils are only fragmens, any alot of them are hoaxes. Those described as missing links can either be attributed to being Homo Sapiens Sapiens or an extinct species of ape. Often the pieces are so small, it is a wonder that they can be identified as belonging to a a genus, let alone a species.

If evolution is not true, secular humanists must acknowledge that there is a god who created them, and therefore is in authority over them. Being the rebellious children that they are, they cling to this one lifeline and try their hardest to snag as many prople with it as they can.

Hey you dumb asses leave her alone!!! at least she's asking questions and wanting to learn. You classless dummies should try and concentrate being more positive instead of putting someone down that may have not have had the same opportunities as you. Why not help a person less fortunate and try providing some help instead. You go ahead honey and ask all questions you want. Yes we are evolving. Here is a comprehensive look at evolution.

Good luck :)

There has never been an intermediate species? When is the last time you picked up a primatology book?

How about all of these:

Ardipithecus ramidus

Australopithecus anamensis
Australopithecus afarensis
Australopithecus africanus
Australopithecus garhi

Paranthropus aethiopicus
Paranthropus boisei
Paranthropus robustus

Homo habilis
Homo rudolfensis
Homo ergaster
Homo erectus
Homo heidelbergensis
Homo neanderthalensis
Homo sapiens (modern humans)

You need to ask a science teacher that. The Asian Bird Flu has recently evolved. Evolution is directly observable in laboratory conditions and, yes, in nature too.

Note that 'macroevolution' and 'microevolution' are terms made up by creationists - there is no difference between them except for the size of the scale.

You obviously dont understand evolution and the time that it takes for evolutionary chages to happen. Evolution of species occurs over such long periods of time that we do not see the effects as immediately as you seem to want. Some species of insects and microbes that have very short lifespans can exhibit evolutionary changes through random mutations that we can observe in our lifetimes. But most evolutionary processes take many thousands to millions of years to occur.

every species is in a constant state of evolution. . .by virtue of either "natural selection" or random gene mutation.
-for instance people in america look a lot different than they did just a few generations ago due to multi-racial gene mingling. and there are new breeds of dogs and cats declared like the bengal all the time.
observable changes from one species to another dont occur frequently in the scope of of human perception, because our life spans do not permit us to see the big picture.

on another note i dont think evolution and creationism are mutually exclusive. . .the complexity of our universe and its ever changing nature is a testament to gods ineffable brilliance and magnitude.
