Yes, Tarot reading can be a genuine and accurate guide to understanding and dealing with situations and personal issues and for exploring philosophy, psychology and spirituality.
The Best Tarot readers connect with intuitive/ psychic information as they read and can be very accurate indeed .
Even when read just according to the standard face interpretation of the cards the tarot contains a lot of good information about the human condition and the nature of life and spirit. The future is not absolutely fixed so the Tarot can only indicate possibilities and probabilities at the moment of the reading.

Depends who does it. As always, there are those that are genuine, and those that just want to make a buck and will say anything. Some are positive, and then there are those who are negative and should not be out there giving "readings," because they do more harm than good. Most people, when they consult a reader do so because they are having a particular issue in their life. But there are quacks, and there are real ones. I guess you gotta go by personal recommendations. Why? Got a special question you were looking to get answered?

I'm not sure.. but when I was younger I "dabbled" with them. I did a reading one time for a couple that I'd never met before and was able to tell by the cards in front of me that they were both married to other people and having an affair. blew them away (me too).
All I knew about the two people when I started the reading was their first name. The cards were telling them to get honest with themselves...and basically warning them to be prepared to take accept any consequences of the decisions they were making. It was a trip!!!

Messing with such occult practices has the backlash potential of blowing open a door to dark spiritual realms, a door that will let all kind of dangerous garbage into your life through demonic activity, a door that cannot be closed except by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Yes, it can be genuine. You know what else is genuine? The evil spirits that control it. Not a good idea if you are concerned about your spiritual wellbeing.

It is a method people can use. Results depend on the skills of the practitioner. The skills have something to do with the light and motives of the practitioner.

.No. It is a form of entertainment that has it's roots in the occult. It is a form of divination and it is messing with spiritual things that shouldn't be messed with. The same goes for wedgie boards

I always thought it more a case of reading people rather than cards.
