For those of you that don't know, c.s. lewis was not only the mind behind The chronicles of narnia, he was also a well respected theologian. On top of that he is a well respected man, who was considered, as far as I know to be one of the most brilliant minds of our time.

"Either this man was, and is the son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about him being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."

Rarely have I heard a debate about the reality or the search for conclusive proof that dreams exist, nor have I ever heard arguments concerning the purity or infallability of any revelations that may come from the dream experience even though the entire world's populace has experienced a dream at one point or another. Seeing that both dreams and the concept of God require spiritual discernment, why is the concept of God set at such uneven odds when we attempt to logically render into being that which defies all physical measurement and credibility to those who cannot directly share in the individual experience?

What would happen if a group of atheists went through with a couple fossils and microscopes and maybe some 300 year old maps and different copies of the bible showing how the wording changed and so did the meaning,

think anyone would "think about it" and get back to them; would the errenoeous copies of the bible all be lies of satan, would the fossils be that way cause of noah (PBUH), would the 300 year old maps made by christian monks be lies of satan, would microscopes be tools of the devil

I've been told many times that athesit & agnostics are just a cross section of the American fabric way of life.

If that's true I'd love to hear from the Conservative Republicans that are atheist or agnostics...I'm sure that would be around 50% so please speak up.

What's it like to be conservative/republican & athesit or agnostic?

Explain why spreading the "truth of Christ" requires you to spread lies about other religions, such as the idea that Wiccans (so-called "white witches") worship the Christian devil. (Incidentally, they don't, & this rumor has been persistently spread by Christians since the second century CE). Why is it not wrong for Christians to spread rumours that Muslims worship some moon god but actually they dont(In the book Mohammedanism, Gibb says on page 26 that both Muhammad & his opponents believed in "the existence of a supreme God Allaah." )
Explain why Christians have spread the lie that Jews put Jesus to death when, in actuality, it was the Romans who put Jesus to death. (For a good example of New Testament anti-semetism, see 1 Thessalonians 2:15).

OK. So many religions, we know for a fact that there's at LEAST a 1 in say 20 chance that Christians are wrong. Here's why I think you are all wrong. We think god is a man with a beard who created the universe. Humans are just one of a billion species on earth alone, with an infinate amount on other planets. The sun is s mall star in the solar system, and there are many bigger ones, with many other planets. we can only see from a human perspective as we are human, but why couldn't a dolphin, a plant, a monkey, a frog, a hippo be the creator? It's such bullsh1t, it's smallmindedness. Grow up, honeslty, if you think about it, the universe is so vast, why on earth can we think a human figure created it, when we're a spec of san in the beach that is the universal species and life matter.... religion was invented for the insecure, but through science we can dismiss it all now. And all that jesus bollox, I mean, come on, think logacally not the brainwashed material we were forcefed as kids

i see so many referances to .. my god , our god , the same god ......
if god has no physical appearance ... no name and adress ... no identifying marks , then how can people say " my god "
is it so hard to believe that one god is the same as the next .. they are all one with different names ?
the only thing that seems to seperate religion to me is the teachings handed down from generation to generation .. some altered some added to ( im not bringing down teachings in any way intentionally here believe me ) because i honestly do love religious teachings and do not doubt that such people existsed but we can only take mans word for the words in religious books ..
the one thing that stands clear to me is that yes there seems to be collective evidence that there is something bigger than us .. and in that collective evidence i trust more than any written word that suggests one faith is better... more accurate ... the true one above all else

I understand that people need to feel purpose and direction. But all religious concepts are just beliefs. Nothing more. No proof. Because the Bible, the koran etc says this is meaningless. I know this may get a angry response but its true.
