Yes and you probably already have. If you convince somebody of the way you perceive truth, then that is religion. If the two of you make a point out of trying to sell your belief to others, then you are on your way to developing a religion. Most people that have not experienced reality have a form of their own religion. The reason is that every human is born with a need for truth is to reflect who they are. A God shaped void, if you will. When they find something that temporally fills that void, and chase that moment of truth, they create a religion based on their understanding of that Truth. Religion is a understanding of Truth and not necessarily the TRUTH. Truth is Truth is Truth, and God and TRUTH are the same thing. So it ain't about religion at all, it is about reality.

I doubt anyone would join if you yourself are the god and public holidays will be impossible until the majority of the population in your country have joined but hey there are stranger "religions" like jedi and scientology.

Yup you can start one , just stay away from the Jim Jones type movement , and the David Koresh ideas as well . All organized religion was made up by man anyway , so why not get in on the action ....

of course you can start your own religion!!! you can do whatever the hell you want! The only problem you might encounter is when you do something against the law and the government scolds you for it... and when you go to court and you say that it's your religion that you made up, they will not only say you are guilty, but they will also attempt putting you in a mental institute. But i say go for it, you only live once.

Well you can start a belief like the Sai baba of India - but you need to have a massive following if you need it to go to the extent of having public holidays :)

Sometimes it is the fool who says there is a god. I wouldn't mess around with the Big Guy. He's got a mean sense of humor. Oh, you might not go to hell or anything, but it could seem that way.

You can start any venture you want.I seriously doubt that you will be able to convince the U.S. givernment to decare a legal holiday(s) for you "religion".By the way, all who think that they are God, or greater, have fallen flat on their face.

Not in America, buddy. See the Waco disaster for reference, and if that doesn't do it for you look to the Mormons and the Native Americans.

You can start your own religion, but your holidays will probably not be considered for public holidays.
