All the holy rollers I encounter seem to be recruiting. The more extreme don't offer an invite that proclaims the benefits of heaven - rather, they threaten what will happen to you if you maintain your evil ways (the infamous blazing fires of hell)
That asks people to not only convert to their line of thinking, but also to ammend their behavior. So let's say they are successful at converting a bunch of heathens to their doctrine. I think you're only looking for trouble if you invite those folks into heaven -- unless their conversion comes with a warranty. what's to say that down the line, these reformed sinners won't get bored, and revert to their former "damned" lifestyle? Do you get evicted from heaven if you fail? Do you have a right to appeal? An angelic tribunal, a demonic defense attorney? It's almost like picking a health plan, they all have their shortcomings.

Does the influence of Christ's message change if he wasn't the son of God, or if he hadn't performed miracles?

I have been asked to say grace at my brother's wedding. We are Catholic but not everyone at the wedding will be. I would like to say something heartfelt but not mushy.

You must think you are right or:
1. Why would you keep believing what is wrong or false? or
2. You really do not have much passion or conviction and really don't care if what you believe is wrong or false! or
3. You somehow think you don't believe anything and the question is moot.
Which is it?

Did you know that someone, presumably the Catholic church founders, altered the writings of Paul to make them fit the Trinity (Jesus is God) doctrine?

"An Historical Account of Two Notable Corruptions of Scripture is a dissertation by the English Mathematician and Scholar Isaac Newton. First published in 1754, twenty-seven years after Newton's death, it reviewed all the textual evidence available from ancient sources on two disputed Bible passages, at 1 John 5:7-8 and 1 Timothy 3:16."

Couldn't he control that if he really existed?... See... there is no way there is a God... Told you so!...

Also, If "God" existed, wouldn't he stop all the evils in this world?

TeHeHe... and you thought I was crazy for not believing... I HAVE MY REASONS!

btw, I'm 13... I'm sure that will make a difference in your answers...

I realy like the National Anthem of my country - the words were written by Jean George Proper! It says "Glory to thee, Motherland, Oh Motherland of mine. Sweet is thy beauty, sweet is thy fragrance. Around thee (our flag) we gather, as one people, as one nation, in peace, justice and liberty. Beloved Country May God Bless thee, For ever and ever!"
Hope you take time to read those others will write.

(1) Doesn't it just make more sense that an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-good deity created the world out of nothingness, from magic, essentially, and then punished us for eating a piece of fruit, and then incarnated himself in human flesh and came down to shed his own blood so he could break his own rules, and then went through hell on a temporary basis and then went back into the sky and promised to come back and take everyone who believed in him to this heaven no one has ever seen?
(2) Well, doesn't it?
(3) Therefore, God exists.

In Jesus name - I dwell in the place of the Most High and I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I say of You Jehovah, You are my Refuge and my Fortress; My God, in whom I trust. You deliver me from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. You cover me and under Your wings I take refuge: Your truth is my shield and it covers my body. I shall not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the bullets by day; For the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand shall fall at my side, And ten thousand at my right hand; But it shall not come near me. With my eyes shall I see the recompense of the wicked. For Thou, O Jehovah, art my Refuge! Thou hast made the Most High my habitation; There shall no evil befall me, neither shall any plague come near me. For You give Your angels charge over me, To keep me in all Thy ways. They bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shall I trample under foot. Because I have set my love upon You, You deliver me: You set me on high, because I know Your name Jesus. I call upon You, and I know that You answer me; You are with me in trouble: You deliver me and honor me as My God and Father. I love You. With long life You have satisfied me. You show me Your salvation. I love You.
