In Jesus name - I dwell in the place of the Most High and I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I say of You Jehovah, You are my Refuge and my Fortress; My God, in whom I trust. You deliver me from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. You cover me and under Your wings I take refuge: Your truth is my shield and it covers my body. I shall not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the bullets by day; For the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand shall fall at my side, And ten thousand at my right hand; But it shall not come near me. With my eyes shall I see the recompense of the wicked. For Thou, O Jehovah, art my Refuge! Thou hast made the Most High my habitation; There shall no evil befall me, neither shall any plague come near me. For You give Your angels charge over me, To keep me in all Thy ways. They bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shall I trample under foot. Because I have set my love upon You, You deliver me: You set me on high, because I know Your name Jesus. I call upon You, and I know that You answer me; You are with me in trouble: You deliver me and honor me as My God and Father. I love You. With long life You have satisfied me. You show me Your salvation. I love You.

God gave us wisdom to evalutate circumstances. The same David who wrote that had a band of men with him when he went into battle. It takes unity among believers if the enemy , or the threat, is large. God supports this. That is why He ordered the entire Israeli army to go into Canaan to take it as a possession, not just one soldier like Joshua.

This is a modern psalm, not a question. If you think it will protect you-drive on brother, drive on. You march yourself right up the the man and tell him you are angry as hell and you're not gonna take it anymore.

Let us know how it turns out.

I can't imagine why a believer in Christ's word would want to deny themselves the glory of being like the Master, persecuted, assaulted, arrested, killed.

Only someone who is going to hell (or worse) would have any reason to have a fear of death.
