In order to have faith and believe in the Lord, God gave us the free will to chose. God does small and large miracles everyday, you just have to look for them. The Bible says God gave us:
eyes but we can not see
ears but we can not hear
he means that he gave us eyes but we can not see his miracles performed before us
He means he gave us ears but yet we do not hear his words when he speaks to us or through us.
we need only to believe

God does not control all of our actions. We have been given free will. We are not angels, for angels have no free will and do exactly as God wishes.

I can answer yor second question with a small story.

[Also, If "God" existed, wouldn't he stop all the evils in this world?]

Barbers Don't Exist

A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and his beard cut. He began a conversation with the Barber and they talked about many things and various subjects. Then they got on the subject of God. The barber said: "Look man, I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, it's so easy, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God does not exist. Oh, tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God exists, there would be no suffering nor pain. I can't even think of loving a God who permits all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but he didn't respond because he did not want to start an argument. The barber finished his cut and the customer left the shop. Shortly after leaving the barber shop, he saw a man in the street with long hair and a beard. It had been a long time since he had his hair cut. His appearance was dirty and unkempt.
The customer entered the barber shop once again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist!"
"How can you say they don't exist?" asked the surprised barber. " I am here and I am a barber. Why I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did there wouldn't be any people with long, unkempt hair and beard like that man outside."
"Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" Affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God does exist. What happens is people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.

Well, we are all born with human sin nature. We all make mistakes and we all have a free will to do what we want. God has given us a choice to do right or wrong. We are held accountable for our actions, if not now, then in the future. Religions: One thing I hate is when people say I am religious. I am not "religious". I have a relationship with the Lord and I have been born again. I do go to a Baptist church but that does not make me a better born again believer than someone else. I know people who are Catholic, lutheran etc... and born again and I know of people that were Baptist and never recieved Christ until later in life. I am not saying these other religions are ok because there are some major doctrinal issues that are giving people false information, which is why you are more likely to find more unsaved people in those churches. The point is, it's about your relationship with the Lord. There is so much to say on this issue.......

God doesn't control our actions and never claimed that he did - he gives us free will to choose and make our own decisions. He gave us a guide - the Bible so we could see what the "rules of conduct" in this life are but it is completely up to us to choose to follow them or not. That is why so much evil exists in the world - because he's not forcing us all to be good - it is our choice and many, many people choose to go against the good that the Bible instructs us to do. That is also why there are so many religions when we should really all be of one faith, one body (church), one baptism, and so on (Ephesians chapter 4 verses 4-6 in the Bible). God gave us free will because he desires followers that choose Him out of all the craziness that is in this world rather that just creating little robots that would do His will because he forced them to be programmed that way. Good question though! :) Keep searching for the truth girl and you'll find it. :)

He gave us Free Will. He doesn't control us, we make our own decisions and take the good and the bad that comes with it.
If he is not real how come I talk to Him this morning?
God gave us Liberty, Even Thomas Jefferson said so himself. Why are there many religions? Simple we are different, some educated, some mature, some meek, and some hard headed. We live in a Country where others payed for you to have that freedom. Which you use very lightly and carefree.
You don't believe in God, sadly you are not hurting him. You are only hurting yourself. Your miss!

Because God doesn't control all our actions. Free Will. PWNED.

Edit: ag_iitkgp: Attention to detail, hero. Jesus claimed to be God. He wasn't no prophet. Mohammed wrote the Quran. If that's not starting a religion, I don't know what is.

sadistdave: -If I choose to follow the laws, then all is right in the universe, angels sing a hymn, and I can look forward to not jail.

If I choose to break the law, I'm doomed to prison while Bubba writhes his hands in glee at the prospect of the buttsecks.

This is not free will. It is spiritual terrorism.- By your reasoning, we should be an anarchy. PHAIL.

Your question crys for help. I can not say one way or the other if God exists. I just understand that "GOD" does not control the actions of humanity. The existence of man is only controlled by MAN himself. He has the right of free choice as you have the right to think he controls our actions. If that was the case you would not have the right to ask this question. The "GOD" that Christians pray to only allows our existence to be us. This "GOD" and other religious "GODS" have given us guidelines to live by to make our lives better. But if MAN chooses not to live be these guide lines that is their choice.

To understand if "GOD" exists you have to have FAITH and then research not the negative but the positive of life. Then you will know if "GOD" exists. You are the only one that can answer that question for you.

The evil is permitted on the world not by "GOD" but by man. Man let the evil thrive as it is mans responsibility to strike down the evil where he finds it but with in the LAWS of God and man.

Good Luck in your research.

First of all, God doesn't control our actions - that's why we have a will - to choose to do good or evil - otherwise we would all worship God with glad and joyful hearts and think nothing of it - but that's not what God wanted. And for a 13 year old you're coming across a little smartaleck and disrespectful of the fact that you recognized you would be hearing from persons of your parents age or older, so where did you learn your respect from?

My point exactly, your will to choose. You have great intuition, just drop the smartaleckness and you will begin to find your questions all have answers of choice.

Well, the party line answer is that God gave us free will. If we lived by his commandments, there wouldn't be the evil in the world - we CHOOSE to take wrong turns, indulge in sin etc. God doesn't control us, so it's our fault when things get screwed, we've chosen the wrong path. My personal view, as a christian atheist, is similar. As for tsunamis, earthquakes etc - these are acts of nature, not punishments or judgements. Tragic, but just the earth doing what it does.

God actually doesn't control our actions. We have a gift called free will. Free will is great but you can also use your free will to hurt people which is why there is evil in the world. We are free to think and act as we wish. There are consequences either bad or good for the things we do. I believe because God has touched my life, but your path is up to you. I hope this helped...Good Luck!

I see someone already started pimping the free will philosophy. So, lets take a look at free will. With free will I have the means and the "privilege" to decide whether I believe that Jesus is the son of God, that God is indeed God, and whether I want to become one of their minions.

If I choose God, then all is right in the universe, angels sing a hymn, and I can look forward to eternal salvation.

If I choose to disbelieve in God, I'm doomed to an eternity in sulfur and brimstone, burning for all time while demons writhe their hands in glee at the prospect of the terrible tortures they will inflict on my immortal soul.

This is not free will. It is spiritual terrorism.
