Christians always say "You can't see air but it exist". Air can be munipulated, tested, and trapped in a balloon. There's a big difference between air and the invisible man floating around causing car accidents to kill babies so they can go to heaven. This just proves that Christians are not deep thinkers like atheists are. God is fake

Anyhow, if science is too much for the Bible, let's try common sense: Common sense says that the sun illuminates Earth, and that without sunlight darkness will cover the Earth. Is there anything simpler? But the Bible says something else: In Genesis 1:1-31, the Bible explains how the sun is related to day and night. The Bible says that on the first day, God created the light and darkness on Earth. The first evening came and the first morning followed. But God did not create the sun until the fourth day, specifically after three evenings and three mornings. So three evenings and the three mornings occurred on Earth before there was a sun. So according to the Bible, daylight occurs without the sun!

Do we have a stereotypical image of what someone from other religions or no religions believes?

What is a stereotypical "christian" or "muslim" or "pagan"or "atheist" or "agnostic" or "evolutionist".

Do we, here on yahoo answers, any of us fit the "stereotype".

Why do we do that, stereotype. Has it made conversation easier or harder.

How many of you believe that Jesus was a person? I am not asking you to accept the fact that He was the Son of God or to accept all that he did when he was on earth... I am just asking do you believe that Jesus walked this earth two thousand years ago? And if you do believe that, what do you believe was the extend of his ministry?

If you are sincere then I ask you to send me all your money in accord with jesus' instruction to "give to all who ask of you."
If you do not, then I must suppose that you are not true to your professed faith.

For example, if Catholic, do you automatically believe whatever the church leaders say, or do you go with what your spirit tells you?

I have found that most Christians say that either they love Jesus or they don't want to go to hell as a reason for thier continued Christianity. Do you think that fear is a valid reason to be a Christian? Should we all be scared to go to Hell? And would that be the reason I should become a Christain?

I'm supposed to be here for another 3 hours. Am I stupid for even asking this question?

The thing about god was just to be able to keep this question in this catagory.

Those of you who believe in eternal damnation must know people who died without ever accepting God, Jesus, etc. Do you ever think about them being tortured and burned alive at every moment of every day? Do you miss them? Does it sadden you to know that even if you get to Heaven, they will never be allowed in?

I hear odd tidbits in the general media about what the Kaballah actually is, and what language in which it is written. I've even heard some say that you do not have to be able to read the text, they believe just holding the book is enough? Is this ancient text available in print?

I have come across MANY poeple that use the following excuse for not believing in God:
If God is real, how can he allow bad things to happen to people like murder, rape and child abuse?
I answer in one of two ways and ask the Yahoo audience these same questions:

1 is parker brothers at fault if someone cheats at their game? THEY mad the game, THEY made the rules. so who is at fault?
2 OK say there is no God. now who's fault is it for murder, rape, and child abuse? How does the existence of God relieve man of personal responsability?

1. talked to you personally and did something to prove that he/she/it was God by stoping time or something that breaks the laws of physics, would you become a believer or would you still be skeptical?
2. come down to earth more often? lets... say twice a year. Then people would have no reason not to believe but we still have free will.

I know I can look on a website and find out the definition etc. I guess I just want to hear about it and what it means to someone of that faith or from someone who has looked into different religions.
Thanks

I am sorry if this question seems a little rude or pompous, but the other day I was having an Yahoo messenger chat with a person who otherwise seemed intelligent, but who had somehow gotten a belief that the King James Bible was a translation from Latin into English rather than from Hebrew and Greek into English.

Where do people get ideas like that?

It's the Douay-Rheims bible which was a 17th century translation from the Latin.

This guy was also surprised to learn that the Textus Receptus is a Greek text despite having a Latin title.

I don't mean to embarass this one guy, because I have seen a lot of strange things said about the KJV by others. And it isn't that I am one of those KJV-only fundies. But I just wonder where so many people get so many crazy ideas from. In this particular guys case, I assume someone at his Church must have told him the KJV was a translation from Latin.
