I haven't seen any that would use the word "equate" as you have.
However, just to expand your horizons, realize that the Hebrew language would make some of those same connections.
For example, the Ruach haQodesh ("Holy Spirit") - "Ruach" is Hebrew for "wind". Obviously this is carried out in Japanese as well where "Kamakazee" means "divine wind". "Ruach" is also used as "breath of life". Of the 378 times the word Ruach occurs in Tanakh, it is translated as "spirit" 232 times.
Or when G-d breathed into man's nostrils the "breath of life" - the "Noshoma Chayah" the word "Noshoma" is also used to refer to man's "spirit".
So the connection of 'air' to G-d has been there from the beginning - way before there were any Christians.

ok, first I agree that that is a generalization that speaks true for some not all Christians.
Second, Christians do not equate God as a whole to air itself unless you are speaking in the sense of giving and continuning life and using that as a metaphor for God.
Third, what is equated in some way with air is the Holy Spirit, but that is a translation thing. In the New Testament, the word that is used for spirit, transliterated as pneuma (where we get words like pneumatic), has multiple meanings. That specific word can mean Spirit, wind, or breath. Some people take this to mean that the Holy Spirit is liken to a breath of wind in that it is everywhere and effects things without being seen. That is an ok reference, though weakly supported by scripture. Many take this way too far and get too allegorical with it and start saying that every time that Breath or Wind is referred to in scripture it means the Holy Spirit. That is just silly overgeneralization and allegory.
In Trinitarian doctrine, all three parts of hte Trinity are equally God. Thus the Holy Spirit is God, just manifested in a different form. Thus, in a very loose way, one could say that God is the "Holy breath" or "Holy wind," but once again, that is not supported by the rest of scripture in any way and is thus thrown out by any theologian worth beign called a theologian.
I hope this answers your question and helps you understand the misconception held by SOME Christians. Please try not to overgeneralize things and thus stereotype every person belonging to a group. You belongto some group and would not like to be stereotyped so please do not do it to others. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope it helped, and God Bless.

LOL That's funny.
All metaphors break down at some point, but the one about God existing because even though you can't see him but you also can't see air yet you know air exists . . . it's a particularly bad analogy.
I've got to add that even if the 'God/air invisible yet existant' argument were sound, that would not mean you could trap god in a ballon. Just 'cause two things are alike in one way, does not mean they are also alike in any other way. So now that I think of it your argument is pretty dumb. I did get a laugh out of the thought though :)

Are you concerned that your belief in an unseen force such as air could equate into a belief in God!!!
Here is an intellectual hypothesis then,....... We are told that the universe is expanding, yet our technology only allows us to view less then 1% of it. Yet, this theory is not based on fact, only mathematical probability.
There could be some problems in the structure of the problem, we do not, or cannot know for sure. But academia continues to present it as immutable law.
The air equation, is simply a way to explain it to idiots and children. Check back when you actually start using you brain...

We commonly associate God with air because God is in everything around us. We use air because it represents life and for us Christians, God is life. But I see where you're coming from. The majority of the so-called "Christians" have no idea what they are talking about. But there are a few like me who actually pick up a Bible every once in awhile and read. But I'm straying away from the subject. God is in everything around us and you can choose to ignore him or accept him. God is eternal life and air represents life and that's why the two are commonly associated with each other.

And sure, there is a great number of issues that are undesirable contained in the international and there also are strong. God is on correct of issues. it isn't God bringing each and every of the undesirable element it really is sin. each and every thing became suitable earlier the autumn contained in the backyard of Eden. there's a lot layout and plan that i do not see how human beings like you imagine there is not any longer a God. Why don 't you perform somewhat study. If the earth became the slightest in the direction of the solar, we would deplete. If it became the slightest extra back, we would freeze. in case you do not opt for to settle for the actuality now then you definately will discover out the complicated way there's a God once you aren't any more allowed in heaven and also you're able to flow to hell. i'm no longer which potential to be harsh, besides the undeniable fact that it really is in person-friendly words the actuality.

If you're confused, just ask for clarification.
I don't normally use that metaphor because it might throw people off, but it makes sense
And no, you can't trap God in a balloon, but still, you can't trap ALL air in a balloon. I think you're missing the point
