I've tried, I can't find it. But that passage makes me wonder if Jesus was actually raised in Nazareth.

Here is the verse:

(Matthew 2:23 KJV) And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

Not what *is* said and what is *not* said.

No where in there does it say that it was a prophecy or that it was written.

It does say that "might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets," therefore, it appears to be oral tradition, not the written word. It was spoken.

Nazarene can mean "branch" - Yeshua is the "branch" of David. Isaiah 11:1. The branch is a "Netser" - transliterated.

So in other words, he will be called a "Branch" (of David). This is important because it proves his "right to the throne."
