I'm sort of interested in learning it, since I have ancestors from the Scottish Highlands who spoke Gaelic. I know that most Scots now speak English primarily, though there are still some Gaelic speakers. I can't afford to travel to Scotland at the moment, so would I be able to use it somehow here in the US (e.g. chatrooms, message boards, etc.)?

I am thinking about getting "Rest, if you must, but do not quit" in Latin as a tattoo, so obviously I want to have a proper translation before putting it on my body. I've tried several free online translation sites, but I've had different results and some with the word "must" in them, which I'm guessing is not Latin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would like to learn German. I've always known a little German but never cared to learn more. But just recently I thought it would be interesting to learn another language. So, I chose German :)

I tried the demo on Rosetta Stone. It really helped but then I looked at the price for the real thing and I think over $200 is way too much for one language. Am I right? Well, anyway...do you know a program that is as easy as Rosetta but a little cheaper?

Thank you!
Cheers

i have to do these types of problems, all about comparatives and superlatives for example:

(as many) ?Puedes beber ______ refrescos como yo?

you would use the english words "as many" and translate it into spanish to fill the blank, which would be "tantos". "tantos" is the answer.

but the next ones, i am having trouble with....

1. "(as) Mis amigos paracen _____ simpaticos como Uds.

2. (the least boring) Rocardo y Tomas son _____ de la fiesta.

3. (the worst) Miguel y Carl son ____ estudiantes de la clase.

4. (the oldest) Mi profesor de biologia es _____ de la universidad.

5. (extremely delicious) El pollo de este restaurante est'a ___.

6. (extremely tall) Sara es _________.

please help! I have been working on about 30 of these for 2 days, and I am going brain dead....X_X

Things like IDK, OMG, WTF. Does anyone else feel you loose something when you don't use real words? Words are so poetic it would be ashame to loose them. What are your thoughts on this?
