Pronounced "Guh-ruh-mah-uh-gut," it is offcially spelled Go raibh maith agat and means "Thanks" or Thank you" in Irish Gaelic.

A literal translation of this phrase is: "May there be goodness at you."

Maith meaning "good" or "goodness" has cognates in other Celtic languages: Welsh & Breton mad (good; fortunate) and Ancient Gallic matis (inscription) which means "of the good."
It is also related to an Anglo-Saxon (Old English) word mæð (maedh) which means "honor."

It's 'Gura maith agaibh' and I think it means congratulations.
