My fiance lost his father when she was 12yo and Christmas is not the happiest time of the year for her, this is our first christmas together and is just the two of us. I already got her a bunch of presents and reserved two nights for a resort in Orlando, what should I do or take her on Chrsitmas eve to make it really special and different for her?

Do you think it is wrong to abbreviate the word "Christmas" and make it into "Xmas"? I mean, the "Christ" part of "Christmas" is the meaning, so is abbreviating it the wrong thing to do? Share your opinion.

'Tis the season to be mental

Here in Blighty we just don't do Christmas like the Yanks. If we take Home Alone as a fly-on-the-wall documentary, rather than a disturbing portrayal of an abandoned child doling out extreme violence, then we can witness the American delight in decking out the house in enough lights to power most of Wales for a decade.

Just be grateful you don't live next door to this residence. Fun? Yes. Loud? Guaranteed. Vaguely terrifying? You better believe it.

Fa la la la laaaa, la la la laaaaa....

I thought it was funny! Somehow I just can't get Kevin out of my mind every Christmas, and I feel I have to put on either Home Alone or Home Alone II. I guess I must identify with the poor abandoned kid who always gets dumped on and jumps up and down on his bed and yells "When I grow up, I'm living alone!" LOL

Have a Merry Christmas!

I know that other minority groups, (Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, and so on) may be offended, but there are more than them. Unless I see a rabbi walking towards me, I won't say merry christmas because i know what he believes, but otherwise, it should be merry christmas.

Even if merry christmas is a religious reference to the birth of Christ, it isn't going to ruin your day. So whats with happy holidays and which do you prefer?

This year, my family doesn't have a van, and we can't have a Christmas tree. I'm only 12, and I still really want a tree, but when I ask my dad, he says he is too buisy, and if you really wanted one, you should go pick it out, and strap it car. Have any of you had a Christmas - treeless Christmases? How was it like? What age were you? What are your opinions

I mean for Christmas. I've bought him an expensive shirt, too, but I want to buy something else without spending a lot of money. We're almost 16. Is a teddy bear too much of a girly gift?
