answer to this is that it depends............if they didn't celebrate christmas or if he didn't have money but was going to spend time with me and treated me good other times then it would be okay.

If however, the person was buying other people stuff and not me then yeah i would feel that he didn't like me

Not at all. We both agreed not to give each other gifts this year (we had a car accident and spent a lot of money on repairs). He has brought me jewelery, perfume, make-up, flowers, electronics and other things that are too long to list throughout the year. He even gave me a pedicure and cooked stake for me this weekend. That is what matters the most to me. That he did not wait until December 25th to give me a gift but he has given to me throughout the year as a ongoing expression of his love. That means WAY more to me.

Well it doesn't really matter, because Christmas is sort of like a "commercial" holiday, just like "Valentine's Day".

The REAL meaning of Christmas isnt the gifts, its about the people you spend time with. So screw the gifts, as long as I'm with someone i love, who cares? The gifts are like an extra thing.

anger is a secondary emotion, some other feeling comes first. hurt and dissappointed maybe but there are many variables here. religion, recent discussion, length of relationship. personal beliefs, money. maybe the gift is really just spending some quality time together. But i do believe the minimum would be some acknowledge ment of the importance of the holiday.

I know that mine is not and I am not mad. We haven't been dating that long. I am still getting him something because I want to. What matters the most though is being with him, not the gifts.

Some people believe there should not be a "special day" to give gifts .
They believe that the gift should be giving out of love to that special person....
I guess it would be like having to give to someone instead of wanting to give...

I would be a bit disappointed, honestly, but maybe there's a good reason for it. Like maybe he doesn't have any money. I don't have any money this year, so I hope my boyfriend understands he will be getting simple but gifts from the heart.

Probably not. I might be disappointed for like a day, but I'll get over it quickly. Maybe they need to save money cause their poor or something. But if they are rich, then I would be mad.

Our first Christmas went we starting going together my husband didn't give me a gift.

I bought him a sweater.

He didn't think we'd been seeing each other long enough to exchange gifts.

I was a bit upset but I hung in there are we've been together over 31 years now.

If were dating for a long time then yes! But if its been a couple of days or a week or so then I wouldnt really care because I dont know him enough to know how long the relationship would last.
