It's funny, I'm feeling the same way. I think it's hard to get excited about a holiday when it seems like no one else is. I don't have much money to spend on people. The weather may have something to do with it, because normally we have at least a couple inches of snow by now. This year it's just been rainy and still feels like fall. Good 'ol global warming.

NO WAY!!!!!!! I am sorry that you aren't in the holiday spirit, so here are some things that you can do to maybe get into the holiday spirit: 1) go to a retirement home and visit the residents; they will be having a bad holiday if their families don't pick them up and share the holidays with them. 2) go to a homeless shelter and help out with the people that are living there; they probably will not have a christmas because the shelter will not have any money to give presents with (maybe if you get to know somebody there go out and buy them something that they WANT because that will make their day or even go pick them up and share christmas with them at your home by having them for dinner and a gift, 3) go to the post office and see if they have any letters to Santa Claus and maybe get something for a deserving child because no child should go without having a merry christmas.
I went a got something for 2 girl angels from the angel tree in the city that I live in because last year i didn't have much money and this year I could do for somebody that wouldn't have a Merry Christmas otherwise, it really put me in the christmas spirit and I also ended up going shopping for other people that I care for. If you get a gift for someone else that wouldn't have christmas otherwise, you can't possibly be a scrooge.
Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, but I do know someone who is pretty close to being a real life scrooge! This year my cousin who is 25 and her 3 kid (ages 6, 2, and 8 months) moved in with her mom in the end of Nov. My aunt put up lights, tree, decorations, even Santa that lights up on the roof. Well, last week my aunt and my cousin got in an argument, which I will not go into, and needless to say my aunt took away all of the decorations and said that there will not be Christmas here anymore. She has now as of yesterday put a one foot tree on a table in the living room and that is it. I think that she was feeling bad for taking Christmas away, kinda like the Grinch. But she has not brought it all back and I don't know if she will.

Lots of people are feeling the same way you are. I am NOT a Scrooge but this year isn't like ones in the past for me either. I bought gifts, sent them to be there on time, but I only put up a fiber optic tree and some lights around the front roofline of the house, and a wreath on the door. That was it!!!! I still have a room full of decorations and lights that aren't going up. I have no idea why so many are NOT in the Spirit this year, must be the weather.

I'm getting that way. We had two deaths in our family this year, and it is just not the same. All of the phony crap is really getting to me, I cannot wait until it is over.
