Here we go again. I have so many gifts to buy for folks of all ages - babies, school-age kids, teenagers, Moms, Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, teachers....any ideas (especially for teenage boys because they are just impossible to buy for)

Is the time before Christmas more enjoyable than Christmas itself? I think the feeling of the season, seeing the stores dressed in Christmas attire and the general feel of giving, is better than the day itself because the day just signals the end.

So my fiance never tells me what he wants for christmas, and I already have a fun night of dinner and looking at christmas lights planned, but I want to get him something he will enjoy. What can I get him that will make him be wowed beyond belife??

do you buy alittle through out the year so it doesn't seem like you're spending so much money or just a bunch at once?

Ever year, I seem to have less and less Christmas spirit. I buy gifts and generally I am a rather giving person, but I can't stand the financial burden it causes each year. I live paycheck to paycheck and it is so difficult and causes so much stress. Also, I am single by choice. I am okay with it, but I can't stand it around the holidays because family members constantly ask, "Where is your bf?" or "Seeing anyone special?" It gets annoying and makes me want to spend even less time with my friends and family. I generally try to avoid my peers because they all tend to be coupled up. I just wish I can skip to Jan 15, 2007.

Every year we are buying christmas presents for each and every individual member of the family. This year, we have decided to do it the 'pick a name out of a hat' way, but the little ones get pressies from all of us aunts and uncles. You reckon that is a good idea?

our Christmas parade is in two weeks. i live right in the heart of the city, and along the parade route. All i have to do is look out my window, and there it would be.

i'm going to decorate my balcony so that those who will pass on by will eww! and ah!.

i already have in mind of what i want to do.
I just wanted to know which color lights would look good; multi-color, or clear?
I see clear as being the brightest of the two. so i'm leaning more towards clear.
others may like it with multi-colors.

personally i think presents should be bought because you WANT to buy them a present, and not based on whether or not you think you will get one back of someone in return. that would be more like a swap rather than a gift

I don't believe in God / Jesus and all that but I still have a big celebration at Christmas with lots of pressies and a party.

Why do I do that?

My fiance's niece is heavily into sports. She has all of the sporting goods she wants/needs so I can't go that route. Anyone have any gift suggestions for Christmas? $30-$50 or in that range. He doesn't want to ask her parents because that ruins the "surprise" of it all. I think it makes it easier, but that's not an option.

Christmas was originally a Religious feast, celebrating the birth of Jesus, but now it seems to me that the original meaning has been almost completely forgotten. Should we rename the feast as Presents' Day, Winter Feast, Childrens' Day or something like that, to be more in line with the common feeling?

This subject has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus. So how many people really know what christmas is all about?

What are your favorite foods served?

Also do you have a full dinner or do you serve heavy appetizers and people can eat what they want when they want?

I just lost my dad this year to suicide. Right now even happy memories hurt to remember. I was wondering if there's anything at all I can possibly do to make this x-mas slightly easier on me.

Shouldn't it just be a day to spend with friends and family? Why should people go broke buying all these gifts? I wouldn't mind if I didn't get any presents. Anyone agree?
