Thats just disgusting, I don't know what you can do. Just try to take some comfort in the fact that their obnoxious behavior just makes them look bad and won't be gaining them any converts. They are taking a giant sparkly Jesus poo all over everything with their agenda they're pushing. Hopefully people see it for what it is. The first documented Christmas controversy was Christian-led. Puritans (including those who fled to America) sought to remove elements they viewed as "pagan" (because they were not biblical in origin) from Christianity. During this period of Christian oppression, the English Parliament banned the celebration of Christmas entirely, replacing it with a day of fasting and considering it "a popish festival with no biblical justification", and a time of wasteful and immoral behavior. The Army were sent to raid homes and confiscate any cooked meat. Mince Pies, those wonderful festive holiday treats... were banned. This led to such resentment that it provoked riots. During the colonial period, celebrating Christmas was punishable by a fine and in 1776 it was still not widely celebrated. On Dec. 25, 1789, the first Christmas under the brand-new Constitution, the United States Congress was actually in session, with no day off for any holiday. In fact, the U.S. did not even make Christmas a federal holiday until 1870. This is a Pagan Holiday to the bone. Jesus was inserted by the chruch, because they could not remove the festivities, so they converted it just like they did with everything else. He was not born December 25'th. He is not the reason for the season. Christians knew it once upon a time, but in their efforts to brainwash others, they've managed to brainwash themselves into thinking it was always theirs. How sad.

I think that yes we as christians need to keep Christ in Christmas, but sometimes we can "shove" our belifes down others throats, and Christmas is definatly one of those times of years. I think we need to show first the love of Christmas, before we start the whole Christ was born on this day to save you speech. Christmas is arround because of Love, therefore before we go bible thumping, we need to first and foremost show love during the season.

I made it a point when my first child was born that on Christmas we would have a birthday party for Jesus. Now each year we have a party for Jesus. My children know that Christmas isn't about Santa and presents, that Christmas is a time we celebrate the real reason for the season.

By all means celebrate with full gusto what Christmas means to you... but it does not mean the same thing to all people. The concepts of celebrating light in the darkest time of the year, to celebrate life and community and hope and togetherness, are ideas that belong to all humankind regardless of religion. It would be nice if everyone could accept the things that unite us rather than what divides us.

You can honor your own meanings in full glory at the same you do this.

I totally agree. We need to keep using the word Christmas as much as possible before it is replaced with this Holiday Tree, Season's Greetings nonsense. I don't understand how people can get offended just bc someone tells them Merry Christmas. Come on, grow up!!! If someone of another religion or faith told me Happy Hanukkah or whatever i would thank them and go on with my day. I would not feel offended.

Yes I agree that christmas is to celebrate the day our savior was born. We always need to remember that. But just think that all the other christmas Icons came from other countrys, meaning that we are beginning to accept others and love them. Isn't that what jesus' life was about?

The word Christ is in the word Christmas, so obviously He is the one we should be celebrating. But I like to celebrate Jesus all year long.

If people don't stop saying "reason for the season" I'm going to go mad.

If you want to celebrate Christmas that way you can...let everyone celebrate the way they want to...it's America after all.
