I shop all through the year. Sometimes can be hard for the kids as their tastes might change a bit through the year, but the tried and true things stand the test of time.
I've only got 3 more to buy and I'm done for this year - yippee
Why not spread it out and lessen the fiscal hurt.
We also have a limit on what we spend on each person.

I make a list of who I want to get stuff for, ideas of what I want to get them, how much I want to spend, what I actually got them, if I wrapped them. Once I decide what to get them, I shop around until I find the best price. If you buy things on-line sometimes you can get a better price if you do one trick. Go all the way to check-out. Go through the whole thing until you have to press process order or place order or something like that. then just close the entire window down. Sometimes a window will pop up with a discount code. I know www.personalizationmall.com does that. Also you can use the link below to create a list of your own
I went shopping this weekend and got almost all of my gifts. If you need any ideas one thing that I would do is go to eBay and type in the word of what they like. Say the like the Simpson's, go and type that in. A lot of times you can find really neat homemade things that are very unique and different. I got my bf this great ceramic University of Maryland Clock that was so cool. Good luck

My family as a tradition when we are done with the Thanksgiving supper. When we are relaxing we take out the fliers and look at the the adds and write down what we want and share it to the family. Then the next day we go to the day after Thanksgiving day shopping.
Also I do most online and all this year and nowadays.

I start my Christmas shopping about two weeks before Christmas and finish by the skin of my teeth. I try to get started earlier every year but I'm just a slacker and do it the same way every year.
It's not the best way and I definitely don't suggest it!

My mother and aunts usually get a majority on the "day after Thanksgiving sale". But a lot of my aunts also find deals-and-steals at store/garage sales all year round.

I always PLAN to shop like starting in October so I can do it little by little and not be rushed doing last minute shopping...but I always end up doing last minute shopping anyways. What can I say...I procrastinate.

I hit ebay on Thanksgiving morning while the food's cooking. You can get some GREAT deals at that time of day!
