Our office traditionally does little activities at work during the days leading up to our Christmas party. In the past, they've done secret santas, had days to bring in items to give out to charity, had desk decorating competitions etc. Any innovative and creative ideas of other activities we could do?

I have no children but can appreciate the massive expense Christmas puts on families, especially ones on a lower income.
This year why not buy one gift for Christmas morning then tell the children that on Boxing day, you are all having a family day out so they can chose their presents themselves as they have been so good! (because the day after Christmas the £500 you have spent on Christmas eve, will actually now cost you about £200)!!!
Would that work?

Someone bought my husband a Santa suit to play Santa. He makes a good one. But we have no idea how much to charge. Do you think we should charge by the hour, 1/2 hour, ask for a donation or what? We are doing this so we can have a Christmas also; otherwise we won't. Any suggestions?

I hate Christmas shopping

I don't like Christmas dinner

I don't like receiving presents at Christmas, because people only give you presents at Christmas so as not to be seen as a scrooge. And they always give you crap!

I don't like Christmas because there is always one family member that spoils it by getting completely drunk and starting arguments

I don't like Christmas because you feel forced to spend time with people (family members) you don't like

I don't like Christmas because it is all about commercialism

I don't like Christmas because of all the paper that gets wasted on wrapping presents and sending cards

And because of all the reasons I have mentioned I choose not to celebrate Christmas!

You know those "angel trees" where you pick off a kid or kids from a tree and make them a stocking or bag for Christmas? Have any suggestions of presents for them? Also, what age & gender would you get? Thanks for your help!

I work for a stockbrokers in the (London) city and at christmas they have a charity day, where all money made is given to charity. Loads of celebrities come in to make the deals and millions are raised. The theme for our department is country related. Some people are coming as pirates of the 'Carribean', 'Greek' gods, etc. The best idea I can come up with that makes me look cool (you never know Girls Aloud might turn up) is captain 'America'. Any better ideas ?
