Our office traditionally does little activities at work during the days leading up to our Christmas party. In the past, they've done secret santas, had days to bring in items to give out to charity, had desk decorating competitions etc. Any innovative and creative ideas of other activities we could do?

Stocking Stuffer Surprise This is an easy game to adapt for any age. The preparations are simple and remain the same no matter who plays. You'll need stockings for each player and a few simple gifts or candies to put into the stockings. Another great thing about this game is that it doubles as party favors and we all know that during the holiday season we can all use anything that does the job of two! Youngest players can play like go fish. Hang two sheets and have someone hide behind it. To play give the children a stocking and have them "hang" it by putting their hands into an opening in the sheets. The stocking is then filled with a cry of "ho, ho, ho!", the child can pull their hand out to see what they received. It is simple, but very fun. Players who are just a bit older can play this game rather like heads up seven up. Two to five children are "it" while the others put out their stockings and hide their eyes. As quietly as possible the children who are "it" place goodies in one stocking apiece. When they have finished those children who have received goodies try and guess who filled their sock. If they guess correctly they take that child's place as "it". If the child playing "it" is not discovered they remain "it" Play continues until all children have had their stockings filled, or all have had a chance to be "it".

A White Elephant sale--Is ALWAYS fun.

There are 2 types--Everybody brings either something from their house that they don't want--and they wrap it.
OR
Everybody brings a Christmas ornament (of course, for the tree)

Everyone in a circle,...however you can do that , in an office..

If you are taking up money for anything (boss, or the next office party, or a charity that does Christmas things for people that can't afford it, whatever), you make bids on the wrapped stuff, not even knowing what they are. The person who gets it with the highest bid, opens it in front of everyone. So everybody can gross out, or go, "WOW!"
If they want , they can bring it back NEXT year, and it can be bought by someone else.
Sometimes, the gifts are cool, and sometimes not.
Tell them to keep it clean, of course.

OR, The Ornament.
A circle,..wrapped ornaments,....you just START,...one goes to get a wrapped ornament, sits down, opens it---NEXT: the person to the left, sitting next to them can choose to take THAT ornament or pick one of their own--open it, ..and the one next to THEM chooses either THAT ornament or chooses one of their own. As picking goes on, You can start picking ANYONE'S ornament that has been opened--or go pick your OWN wrapped ornament.

The FIRST person gets to go last--having looked at ALL the ornaments, by now, and they get the last one wrapped OR they choose ANY ORNAMENT IN ANYONE'S HAND.
(If they DO take one from somebody, that somebody gets the last one wrapped)
It IS fun!! whether it sounds like it or not!

secret santa is always good...

bring baked goods.. if you can some booze... (the mild stuff that really doesn't do much) and do some xmas truth or dare... talk about the truths of xmas in your life OR dare someone to do something good for xmas... and of course they must have proof.. video... other.

so when you get back from the holidays... you can watch it on the net or something.

or decorate the bosses office with lights and a tree.... (if they have a sense of humor) while they're out... or chip in together for the ultimate boss present.

so on.

or do that caroling thing... have your team run around dressed up caroling and have treats for the other divisions or places of business in the area... make yourselves look like the winning team.

he he.

or get money together for a charitable cause.. something sufficient... and you can put the company name on the donation.. that has many benefits.... so on.

or do dress up.... elves.. santas... things like that.

or if the boss or someone has brought in a tree... bring in a decoration and a present....

there's so much more to think that can be done... or folks chip in to get a real copier instead of that big pos you have sitting in the middle of the office eating up paper and barfing out toner.

so on.
