In pagan times people used to decorate trees outside of thier house.
But this practice was banned by the chuch so people brought trees inside to hid them.
They then put decorations up around the room as well.

We do a small tree (pretend), yet i certainly desire to bypass lower back to a super actual tree- the small one helped to maintain our toddler out of hassle considering we placed it up on a table, yet i'm waiting for a super one (she'll be 3 this 12 months and we are able to show her to stay off the tree stuff). I placed pretend garland on the mantle, and we oftentimes carry out a little white lights furniture on our porch (we've super railings for lights furniture and that i like the way they glow at evening!). i'm excited this 12 months through fact I actually have a clean introduction calendar (a large felt Christmas tree with all the little wallet!!) that i will dangle up and my daughter gets a sprint handle each and daily till the twenty 5th. I even have some little snowglobes and trinkets that I set around the lounge, yet we oftentimes shop the decorations only in that room. We agreed we can permit our daughter beautify the little tree in her room as quickly as she's slightly older.

I believe it is linked to the pagan festival of Yule and bolt ons from the Victorian era. Yule signified the shortest day of daylight and the rebirth towards spring. The dark nights must have been scary before the days of city habitation, there was much more forest in Britain. Prince Albert brought his traditions with him from Germany and hence Christmas trees. Also the Christian link to the 3 wise men and the star. Check the www.wikipedia.org site for much more info.
