You know those "angel trees" where you pick off a kid or kids from a tree and make them a stocking or bag for Christmas? Have any suggestions of presents for them? Also, what age & gender would you get? Thanks for your help!

Hi,
I know exactly what "angel trees" are since I buy every year for children who come from less fortunate families.
Angel Trees usually list the following information about the child so that you can get a better understanding of the child that you are buying for. This information includes:
The childs sex (boy/girl)
The childs age
The size clothing that the child wears
This information is given so that there is never any guessing on who you are buying for, as well as the age and size of the child.
What I like to do is talk to the person who is in charge of the Angel Tree and ask that person if they could get in touch with the childs family to ask them if their child wants or needs anything special for the Holiday Season.
I now not only have the childs sex, age and size but I also have some idea of what they would like for Christmas the most.
Most of all...its easier for me to shop using the info provided to me...than it is, if I had no info at all and I guess it all myself.
Anyway, I hope all this helps you take out all the guess-work for you when you buy for little angel this year.
Good luck and happy holidays to you!

We "adopt" children every Christmas and we usually stick with children ages 3 - 10 (when kids still generally believe in "Christmas"). Most kids really want bicycles and scooters. We usually get them warm coats and clothes as well. We also go to Big Lots or the Dollar Store and buy a bunch of toys (dolls, toy trucks, books, etc.). You would be surprised how far your money will go in these stores and the child gets so much more. I have been doing this for a long time and I have found the children like to get one big thing and a BUNCH of little things to open up. Hope this helps!

How wonderful that you are willing to participate in an angel tree. The cards usually have an age and gender. So that you can get something close to appropriate. Some cards will even have the need. Do what your heart guides you to do.

I am given the honor of delivering these gifts in our community.

Usually when you choose an angel off the tree it tells you what size and what they need. No guessing necessary.

Usually what they want and sizes are on the tag when you pick it. I would like to do one of those but for children that are "needy" they sure do ask for expensive things, like ipods and xbox. I think it's best to make donations to a favorite charity.
