We suddenly lost my 3-month old nephew two days ago. My family is torn. His mother (my sister) and her husband are in no position to pay for a funeral. Is there a proper way to ask for donations to the family? A friend mentioned having a basket at the wake for envelopes and such. Any suggestions?

Her birthday is the 30th, but I work. So I had no choice but to have it on New Years Eve at 12:00 to 1:30 pm. I thought maybe that would let some moms go get their nails done while their kids had fun at the party. But now I am concerned that maybe I am offending people.

I got totally plastered at a work night out and i am dreading facing my colleagues on Monday. I recall jumping on the bloke from IT's back and dancing around like a twit. I also started a fight with a stranger in a bar and swore copius amounts very loudly!! Im so emarrassed and just wondered about any tips about covering up embarrasment and getting on with work as though nothing has happened

I do that at my parties and I always show that I am glad. But I noticed that other people rather just take it from the guest and put it away without even looking what is in the box pretending to be unaffected. What do you prefer?

I know it's mean and shallow, But it's hard not to look. This friend of mine has a huge girlfriend and he thinks that I am jealous cuz he'll see me looking at her huge *** but it's like a train wreck I am thinking how could someone so young let themselves go that bad. I know I am going to get a late of angry answers so go right ahead I can take it :-p

This is something that has bothered me for some time now, and I just disregarded it as a part of human nature to be cruel and unforgiving. But in the hallways, I hear them all the time. "That's gay, you're gay, you're a queer" as if it were insulting. Also, why are people so insecure about their sexualities? I'm not Gay, I'm just wondering why people do this, because it seems unfair to those who really are gay, and get picked on because of their sexuality. I find it discriminatory and wrong...so why do it in the first place? Are teenagers just so completely stupid that they disregard other's feelings in a heartbeat? This just frustrates me to no end, and I'm hoping someone could provide an answer.

He is gone most of the day and leaves his back door unlocked all the time. She just walks in and makes a sandwhich or whatever. She will also watch tv there and read his magazines. She's done this a lot. I'm surprised he hasn't figured it out. She always leaves before he gets home. Should I tell him?

I have a few questions I'd like to ask them, but I don't know how to talk about their "lifestlye choice" without sounding accusatory. Any advice? (it's a shame more homeless people don't have internet access, I could just ask them my questions here.)

First you had to tip your waitperson at a restaurant, and now it's gotten rediculous.
When I win money at the casino, the floor person looks at me like I just shot their dog when I don't give them a tip.
It wasn't them gambling their hard-earned money, so why should they get some of my winnings?
And at starbucks, they give me an evil stare when I put the change in my pocket instead of the little tip bucket.
I'm going to stop tipping altogether, even at restaurants, to protest this out of hand tipping spree.

Would you rather have a friend that is brutally honest with their feelings about everything (what you're wearing, how you act, etc.), or a friend that's nice and kind to everyone (pushing the point of being fake), even if it's not what they're thinking or feeling?

For the last three weekends on Fridays and Saturdays, my neighbor in my apartment building has had a bunch of his teenage friends over. They constantly slam the front door (right outside my door) and talk loudly outside on the back deck until way past midnight. Last weekend, I woke up at 1:30am to someone cursing loudly at someone else right outside my bedroom window. The phrase "booty call" was used many times as well as several other words I would rather not have to hear. If I ask them to be quiet and they don't, do I have the right to call the cops and report a disturbance of the peace? I work Saturdays, and this time of year is already stressful enough without losing sleep.
