And then, 45 seconds later, they are flagging the waiter down because they "NEED" something?? Oh, say, Ma'am...can I get a refill?? Can I get an extra side of ranch? Can I get a babysitter for my screaming child??
What the heck is up with THAT?

SHOCKED when they see their bill and realize that their tab is the same as it would have been if not MORE??
For instance... Instead of getting a spaghetti dinner for $9.95 that comes with bread, soup and a meatball..
They get the LUNch sized spaghetti for $6.15, add a meatball for $1.50, and decide that they do want the soup...after they see that everyone else at the table got one...for $3.50. Then HOW could their bill be $11.15...Everyone else's was $9.95... What is the deal with this.... I mean geesh.. Gas is $3.00 a gallon... That buck you were trying to save gets you no where anyway.

The positives. Do you feel as if you should drop the plans you have and go dish soup at a homeless shelter, or perhaps you feel compelled to purchase gifts for the neighbors who kept you awake for 74% of the preceding year throwing wild parties and swearing to you it would never happen again...Just a rhetorical question.Answer..Enjoy....Believe.

I find it amazing. I am no math-wiz, but how hard is it to figure 15-25%, according to quality of service, size of tab, how long you kept the table, etc...
What is the deal? Ar ethey afraid to leave too much? Afraid to leave too little? What?

Normally I wouldn't need to ask, but we've lived at our home for 8 months and haven't had time to meet them. I want to meet our neighbors before Christmas; so should I just go on over empty handed, or do I bring them something? Like a tray of goodies, etc, for being so delayed? Thanks.

Im a server, and have been serving for a few years now. I have learned to accept that people are going to be rude sometimes. I just smile and apologize and act like a robot-emotionless. If i have a table that is running me to death, or just being rude to me, how can i tell them "hey im ******* human and you have no right to treat me like im your ******* slave b*tch!" in a nice way?

Bearing in mind someone has put thought into that gift for you, even though you know you would never use it? If its not a sentimental item from a family member, would you class this as wrong to gice it to charity?

I am a server, and recently a customer came in to eat. I dropped off his bill and came back to his table to see if he had a credit card or cash to pay his tab. There was money (I forget how much) on top of the ticket I had set down. I reached for the money and the ticket and politely asked if he would like any change. He got mad at me and told me that when I asked a question like that I was EXPECTING a tip....It's 2006....of course I expect a tip, but I didn't remember how much the ticket was, and I was just asking if I needed to return to the table with change. He made a scene in the DR and told me that it was rude to ask. I should just take the money, and bring back the rest. If he was going to leave a tip he would, and that it was his money to do what he wanted with it.

I have been a server for several years, and when it's busy, you just ask if they need change to save you a trip back to the table.

What do you think. Should I just not ask for change from now on?

My 9 month old has been going to a private daycare/school since he was 6 weeks old. There are several teachers in the infant room along with the other teachers at the daycare that help out and of course the front desk staff and director. What's a creative or nice gift that we can give them for Christmas without having to spending a ton of $$. Thanks for the suggestions!

When you are approaching a door with a woman and the door opens INTO the building, so that you have to push it to open it, do I (1) Go ahead of the woman, holding the door open standing in the building or (2) stand in the door way, the woman squeezing by as I hold the door open with one arm or (3) let her push the door open I stand close behind her to hold it open with an arm while standing behind her?

...when your nervous? ...under the influence? ...really heated about a topic?

...and how do you feel about someone who you're sharing a "conversation" with, particularily about a good issue, and doesn't let you get a word in edge-wise?

More and more people use four letter words that are disgusting and rude even young kids and ond on television sitcoms, movies, all over the place. Regardless of religious belief, I think it is really spreading like a disease. What could be done to stop that? This is awful!
Even educated people are doing it now.

Furstration is the main reason. What do you think their excuses are?

I just fired my business partner, am I a jerk?
I don't regret it, because they were holding me back.
The bills were getting ignored, & the company name was registered under me.
How long does it take for someone to realize I was just concerned about the company's welfare?
I don't think it came as a shock to them, because things were going to come as an end sooner or later...

As a wise consumer, I’m aggravated how much supermarkets for necessities such as milk, bread, meats, orange juice etc. There should be some kind of law prohibiting this price gouging. So what I do to teach these establishments a lesson is very simple. For each over priced item I buy, I place one of their finest packaged meats under the shopping cart (usually between kitty litter & a blank poster board I get from the stationary dept). If I get over charged for 10 items then there will be 10 meats (filet Mignon, NY strip, etc) hidden under my cart and are MINE "on the house". That will teach them. I advise everyone to do the same. My question is for you folks to let me know what you think of my shopping methods? If you like them, do it yourself!!!! By taking a stand together, we will get these prices down!!!!

Nobody cares that he bite his lover 15 times on the back , forced sodomy on her and then made her perform oral? This is all fine as he is a good announcer?

I am going to have a vegetarian wedding reception. There will still be all the courses and dessert - just vegetarian. Should I announce this on my invite "Vegetarian reception to follow"? or does it not matter. Mainly, I want to hear back from meat eaters b/c these are obviously the people that would care. My veg friends love that I am doing this!
