I dated a guy a few times and we really hit it off (he invited me to over for the holidays). He mentioned he's been looking all over for certain characters from a popular Christmas show, so I was able to find them, picked them up, and sent a courier to his office with the package. He's been working a lot and has been really stressed, so I did it to put a smile on his face. I thought he'd be so bowled over that I found them that he'd call right away. It was yesterday and I haven't heard - Hell...when I get flowers I call to thank the sender right away...but, maybe that's just me. I guess I need a guy's point of view here - should I expect a "thank you" or do I just assume he didn't want me to get him a gift and that he's blown me off???

Ok, so I've got some friends, as much as I love them, they are so messy! I'll admit that sometimes when I visit, I'll leave a piece of (wrapped!) candy here or there, and leave things slightly diseveled but I promise 9 times out of 10 I'll clean up my messes, I unwrap a candy bar, I throw away the wrapper, I spill a little bit of soda, I run get a napkin and clean it. Unfortunately they are not usually so courteous, I'm not asking for them to be perfect and neat, but at least clean up candy wrappers and wipe up spills. I've tried banning food from my room, but eventually I cave and bring some in, is there another way I can have them clean up the basic stuff without being mean or rude?

Let me preface this- rape is a horrible thing. But in the state of Maine, if a woman has one drink, then has sex with someone and regrets it, its legally rape. That just seems a little extreme. If she's shitfaced drunk and you have to carry her to a bed because she's passed out, then yeah, I'd call that rape, but one drink?

I'm a girl, but I have alot of guy friends that have suffered over this.. girls will turn around after agreeing to sex and call it rape to get revenge or to make themselves feel better about it. Then women who are legitimately raped won't say a word! I just don't get it.

Ladies- keep a friend with you who makes you go home at the end of the night.. if you're really intrested in a guy, get his number and call when your sober!

Gents- jesus, guys, keep it in your pants and call her when your sober!

Anyway, what are people's opinions on this? Whats rape and what isn't?

Today a couple of friends and I are exchanging Christmas gifts. One of friend's boyfriends is coming to our little exchange. I feel as if I should give him a gift, even though I don't really know him. What small gift can I give him that he will appreciate?

I am wondering how you handle people who fail to respond to invitations, when on the invitation it clearly asks for the recepient to respond. Should these people automatically be included in preparations or should I call and ask these people if they will be attending, or just not include them in preparations and if they show up then to bad. I don't want to handle this the wrong way but feel that the reciepents should take some of the responsibility.

I've tried everything- throwing boots in his mouth, two-by-fours, hand grenades, dropping an anvil on him, throwing him in a doghouse and nailing it shut with boards, tying him to a tree on top of a mountain top miles away...but he always returns good as new and crowing louder than ever. I even tried reasoning with him. What do I do?

Our boss told another co-worker and she told me. The one getting fired is in sales, but comes to the office quite often. He is going thru a lot right now in his personal life, but still makes a lot of sales. I think they are letting him go because they want to hire someone who used to work here as a salesman a long time ago. My question is: What is they right thing for me to do. I know they are going to let him go, but I don't want to get anyone in trouble since I was not supposed to know.

I got a Great deal on the Spin Brush (the electric toothbrush). And I'm giving them out to some of my co-workers and friends I don't want them to interpret as in they have bad breath (because they don't). Should I give them a Spin Brush? Or would it be kinda mean? Again, they don't have bad breath or gingivitis. It's just a gift.

I can hear my neighbors especially when they are cleaning anything or taking a shower. I was in bed with earplugs and a fan on and I heard continious bangs from 7:00 until 9:30 this morning. And I am thinking, "Damn, how many showers are they taking? How much stuff can they possibly clean?" Then I heard some more continious bangs about 30 minutes ago. Had to get the hell out of there for a while. What should I do? Any suggestions on techniques to block out the noise? I never really wished that I was a deaf man before but...

I find it to be the height of rudeness to be at a lunch with a friend or something and have them start talking about what they did last week with another friend. I make a huge effort to never bring up other friends when I should be giving the impression that I am having a wonderful time with the friend I am with. Does anyone else agree?

The reason I don't like this co-worker is because everyday he says something negative about people of my race, even after I told him I don't appreciate it and I don't find it humorous at all. The gift is a book called the 2007 movie guide...which is a hobby he is into, but he always tries to push his views and likes and dislikes onto other people. Thats just some of the stuff I deal with, but I dont like him, but I do what I have to do in order to get my job done, cause thats what I come to work for. I really dont want to spend my hard earned money on someone I dont like.
