Family and close friends would be fine. Co-workers, probably not. Just my take.
Professional relationships are much more rules based and etiquette dictates some items are just too personal.
But you know your peeps, so you go with your gut!

Only self conscious people will interpret your actions that way. You may want to include a card with the gift that talks about how great the toothbrush is, that you own one and you thought they would love the feel and the general sense of clean. I would absolutely love if someone gave me a jet pulse tooth brush and wouldn't be a bit offended. But if you are giving the same gift to several people, there should be no offense taken. If you singled out one person in the office that is rumored to have poor dental hygiene then there might be cause for concern.

Great gift idea!!
Yes, there are people who would take it the wrong way. You probably know who they are and you should avoid giving it to them. Hopefully this will not be too many folks. For those people you don't know, I would assume they fall into this category.
If you have several of toothbrushes, word will get out and people will figure out you got a great bargain on a gift that is truly imaginative. This will help those few select folks you give them to that not only do you NOT think they need it badly, but they will be impressed by your bravery and flattered by choosing them as a trusted friend.

I don't think a toothbrush, no matter how efficient it is, would be taken well if given to a co-worker. I do agree that it is a great gift idea, but one that I would share with family and/or close firends. :)

I probably would not give it to my co-workers. They might get offended. However, I always put them in my childrens stockings. I also give them to my neices and nephews. Kids are fine, and other adults in your family, but I would steer clear of becoming the work place dentist. I hope you have a Merry Christmas, and I think it is really cool of you to think of the people you work with at Christmas time. May God bless you!

I'd maybe save it for a New Year's gift. I would probably just hand them out and say "hey, I got an awesome deal on these...do you want one?" That way if they didn't want it you wouldn't offend someone by giving it as a Christmas gift.
