What is this about? I just went to the bathroom at work (I work at a hospital) and a girl was chatting away on her phone while on the toliet! Anyone else completely uncomfortable when this happens?

nanny4hap: actually cell phones are now allowed in public areas of the hospital - cafeterias, offices, waiting rooms, bathrooms (obviously). just not in the ICU, CCU, NICU, ED, and X-ray because of the sensitive nature of the equipment.

Yes! This is so gross. Do these people invite their friends into their bathrooms at home to carry on conversations? Yuck! Not only does this make the caller have to listen to all the bathroom noises, but it's just unsanitary. I've noticed that most people that talk on their phone while they're going to the bathroom neglect to wash their hands afterwords. There's also the chance of dropping the phone in the toilet! I don't think there are many phone conversations that can't wait the 2 minutes it takes for one person to hang up, use the bathroom, wash her/his hands, and then call the person back!

I have never been one for talking on the phone while on the toilet...at home, at work, out, period...that's just plain wrong. Rude. Disrespectful of people on the other end. And when I can tell someone is on the john when I talk to them, I tell them just to call me later because I really don't want to hear them doing their business. Even if you're not on the john while talking, but still in a public bathroom...it's still wrong. People on the other end do not need to hear the constant flushing of toilets in the background!

Lol, it is a little uncomfortable. But what's even worse is when (especially for men) your cell phone goes off while you are in the middle of a release... It happened to me at a urinal, and the bloke next to me said, "Amazing... a urinal that plays music when you pee in it... We can make millions!"

btw, this was also uncomfortable, because it doesn't matter if it is your best friend, your father, your son or your gay lover; men's bathroom conversations should be no more than 5 syllables total...

Lol, that is somewhat uncomfortable. yet what's even worse is at the same time as (fantastically for adult males) your cellular telephone is going off once you're interior the midst of a launch... It befell to me at a urinal, and the bloke next to me reported, "fantastic... a urinal that performs music once you pee in it... lets make thousands of thousands!" btw, this replaced into also uncomfortable, because it would not count number no matter if it is your superb chum, your father, your son or your gay lover; adult males's bathing room conversations should be no more beneficial than 5 syllables entire...

I find it to be terribly rude and refuse to answer mine if it happens to go off in the vicinity of the bathroom. First of all the person on the other end of the line hardly wants to hear what is going on in the bathroom. And I don't think the other people in the restroom really want to know what is going on with whoever you are on the phone with.

I wouldn't talk on a cell phone in the bathroom. If, um, well, a "bodily sound" were to travel through my phone into the ear of the person I was speaking to, I'd be pretty embarrassed.

She may have just gone in a stall to speak privately. Cell phones aren't usually allowed in hospitals. It is sorta gross but I have made a quick call in the potty before I use the potty. No other quiet, semi private place in some instances.

I don't mind talking on the phone when I am in the bathroom. though I do find that some people dont like it!
If I am in the bathroom and someone ask's me where I am? I will be honest and say it!
They hang up later! Only my best friend speaks to me!

I can't imagine sitting on a public toilet and deciding to make a personal call. If the phone rang I'd only answer if if it was an emergency.

I don't think I'd want to talk with someone who was calling me from a toilet.
