This goes for teachers gifts as well! I would prefer to get one decent gift than 3 mediocre. Is this kosher? What should I do when the triplets have their own birthday party. My thinking is that each child invite 1 of their own friends & that friend bring only 1 gift. I think its too much to expect each friend to have to bring 3 gifts

I am starting a new job this week at a major department store. It is on a main avenue and there is no or very limited parking in the back, she said to park where customers park and there is a meter for 25 cents every 1/2 hour (maximum 2 hours). She mumbled something about once I get in the system maybe she can fix it but I am concerned.

1. Even if I keep running outside every 2 hours to fill up the machine with quarters, that means I have to go to the bank and get rolls of quarters and I work from 10 to 8pm so that's 10 hours or $5 a day in quarters. Do I have a right to be reimbursed for that? I am afraid to ask on my first day of work, or will she try to get away with making me pay if I don't bring it up?

2. I am afraid my car could be towed (it's an expensive car) because I am staying longer than the 2 hour max. and someone might complain that that red car has been parked there all day. Or if I get a ticket? There are a lot of cops and traffic guards around that street.

What does it mean when you ask someone a question and they say pardon me? I hear that all the time but I have never been able to catch on.

It all started about 8 months ago now, she reported my Husband for shouting at our little girl one day, long story. It was all sorted out and no concerns with the authorities.

The neighbour in question is literally next door we were friends before all this. Although she was so called concerned about the above situation she has been banging on the wall and shouting "shut up" with the slightest bit of noise made by our 2 year old and 4 year old children, it seems it's okay for her to do these things and frighten our children and not us to on the odd occasion tell our children off.

She is slagging us off to the neighbours about the children being noisey and who knows what else, she is writing threats on our car, we have the house on the market as she is making my 4 year old paranoid with all the banging on the wall, and now her Husband has started poking his tounge out, does anyone have any suggestions of what to do, we have not approached them at all as was told to ignore them.

Okay, here's the deal. I'm a manager of a small 3 person department. I have this one girl in my department that has really bad body odor. She's the nicest person in the world. I don't want to hurt her feelings! I also don't want her to quit. We work in a small inclosed office, and sometimes the smell is so bad, that I have leave on an "errand" to just get away from it. I'm bad at telling people things like this, and the HR person for my company was helpful, but not really. Any good TACTFUL ways that I can handle this??

I realize that we are are all individuals and we are not defined soley by our religion, sex, race or place of origin. In certain contexts however (such as filling out forms, reports, etc) it becomes necessary to identify (such as when working with demographics) classes and races of people. With this in mind, please tell me, in your opinion, what the best term to use is for each of the following, so as to not offend the persons being refered to:

1) White, Caucasion or Anglo

2) Black, African American, *****

3) Hispanic, Latino(a)

4) Indian, American Indian, Native American

5) Asian, Oriental

If you have an answer in the "other" catagory please let me know. This question is not meant to offend anyone so I must ask that all answers be respectful as well.

Thanks

Are there people out there that are not annoyed by this?
Were they raised in families of 15 children? Or in a barn?

It drives me insane, especially when I go out of my way not to use my mobile phone when I am out with others. But I'm not sure...maybe it is not considered rude to do anymore, just because everyone has a mobile phone now a days?

are on the whole nice and kind! but today TODAY i have been most offended! heres the sitch.
i was on the bus when a whole heap of people got on at one stop and the last on one was an old lady 65+.before she sat down the bus had to stop suddenly and she went flying! nobody got up to help apart from me. i let her get her barings, helped her up and gave her my seat and made sure she was alright. what annoys me is that i never got a word of thanks! it wasnt that she was too shaken up to speak as she carried on to some other old lady about the incident! grrr im so angry though i helped her up and made sure she was alright and no thanks!!! who else has had a similar experience?

Does anyone have an idea of a nice gift to celebrate?

My fiancé’s daughter is 9 y/o and is very much into music. Listening to it not playing it. She takes dance class, and announced to us just last night that she has a boyfriend. (OMG!) Anyhow I need good ideas for holiday gifts. And would it be apropriate to give her father a gift? He and I really do not know each other, but I came along two years after they split up. Ideas there too.
