I get, "thank you's" often, but then you have your butt heads that don't want to say or they forget or they just weren't taught. The thing to understand is that you, continue to do what is right and be BLESSED by GOD. Don't let people get you upset because of there ignorance. Stay POSITIVE, because the more you let ignorance bother you the more the devil thinks he wins.
GOD BLESS YOU and have a good day.

I find it rude if I don't hold the door open as I walk through. I stood holding a door for about 20 people once and only 3 said thank you. It makes me feel better cos I know that I say thank you when someone does something for me.

Some people just don't have manners today. They are so used to having things done for them that they don't pick up on small gestures like hold doors open and helping someone with shopping even. The world is in a hurry all the time that people seem to walk around with there eyes closed, totally oblivious to manners.

The world needs a massive reality check cos we don't need anymore stuck up snobs. The media and parliament can have that category.

Happens all the time to me ....I often think they might be stunned by the very act of someone holding open the door for them...many people just drop even if they see a person right there.

More often than not I'm thanked. But it depends on where you live and who you chose to open doors for. I don't do it for everybody, like if it is some little street urchin punk, but when I do I don't expect thanks. That's up to them obviously. You stop the next one that doesn't and say "You didn't say thank you," and see how that goes over. If they don't say it I feel sorry for them that they have no manners. A lack of manners is their loss, not mine. However, if I ever saw that person again I'd make sure the door hit them square in their big fat nose. Whap! Take that, you cretin.

Countless times and it's really annoying. Some people are so ignorant. My parents made sure we all had good manners, and it's not in my nature to leave the door close on people...as much as I'd love to at times

Yes, I hate when that happens----I would say about 50% of the time the person doesn't say thank you, it's very irritating and I end up wishing I had just let the door slam in their face

It does happen, that is,opening the door for someone and no reply, that just tells me that some people were raised by a den of snakes,or wasnt raised with any manners.I still open the door,it's just common courtesey.I was raised with morals and manners, and i do USE THEM!

well it all depends on what kind of doorholding youre doing.. if its just a little extra hold while theyre right behind you and they dont thank you i think thats ok.. but when you hold it for em and theyre kinda far away.. like it woulda closed if you hadnt held it, and they dont say thank you, thats kinda a bummer.. that rarely happens to me though.. most people around here are friendly
