Would you sacrifice life and limb to protect your family? Would you sacrifice yourself to assist a stranger? Do you devote yourself wholeheartedly to one women and hold her life and your childrens lives above your own? Do you respect the traditions and values of the people you come in contact with? Would you do anything to assist the country you live and work in? These are questions I ask myself everyday. If I can't say yes to all of these at all times I don't consider myself honorable. What do you do that makes you honorable?

It's a strange thing. Whenever Americans ask me what I think of something American, and I happen to have to answer truthfully that the object in question (sometimes their own country) does have its flaws, they just blow their lids. What's the reason for this attitude? Isn't it much more interesting and helpful to hear about weaknesses, so that they can be fixed, to help make America better still? Oh, and do trust me - I am being most diplomatic when I make these remarks.

I was just thinking about this when I was on the transit......if someone tried to ask you the time and you didn't know they were talking to you till they said it twice, what would you say; "Pardon me," "Excuse me," "What," or just look at them with a raised eyebrow?

Which would be most polite?

I need a hedge for the side of my house that faces our neighbors. They have a wire fence around their house and they have covered it with "no trespassing" signs facing all directions. They are not friendly and think everyone is out to get them. There are so many of these signs that it is very ugly to look at. They also have half a dozen cars parked on their front lawn on any given day. Financially right now a wood fence is out of the question for us, but I was thinking of planting a hedge. Any ideas?

Why do you think that customer service has gone by the wayside, I know it can't be an easy job, and the pay is probably low, but I find when I get good service, I thank the person profusely, or over tip them.
In flight the other day the pilot announced to the passengers not to make the airline stewardess upset, blew my mind, I thought she was there to serve us.

My boyfriend's mother doesn't speak English and therefore, I usually end up conversing with his father. Thing is, I'm not very practiced in making conversation with men. What kind of generic topics can I bring up to make dinners a bit more comfortable for everyone?

For American friends a "lift" is an elevator!!
Is it me, or does anyone want to giggle in lifts and say silly things? I think I have "lift tourettes"!

Last night we had a work function and we all went out to dinner. At the end, we divided the bill evenly, and I was short $2. My co-worker was nice enough to put a $5 for me to the appointed person who was dividing the bill. Well, I paid her $2 this morning and she said I owe her $5 instead of $2 cause she didn't get any change back from last night. Then, she said, "nevermind, just buy me a drink next time", though I don't feel obligated to pay her an additional $3 or a drink. Am I wrong for thinking this way?

This is one of my biggest pet peeves...I have seen four parking spaces in a row un-usable because of people not having the courtesy of taking their shopping carts to a return or back to the store. I have seen wind blow a cart into a parked car. Why the laziness?
